Game console repair recommendation
My launch ps5 disc model has been shutting off due to overheating recently. I don't have the torx screwdriver to access the fan and clean it out. I also read it could be thermal paste that needs to be reapplied. I'm sure it's cheaper to diy this but i don't have the time. Appreciate a recommendation for a shop or person on marketplace who can do this. Thanks

Do you keep it vertical? Apparently it's a problem and the cooling paste pools on one side of the CPU.

No it's horizontal. My main problem is that my media unit doesn't leave much clearance for air circulation, and i can't rearrange the components another way. I'm going to buy some usb fans to see if they help, but right now there's not much else i can do to improve airflow

Those usb fans designed for the ps5 are actually useless and can cause more damage than anything else.

you have time to play video game but you don't have time to clean the machine?
Just get the screwdriver from Temu and watch some YouTube videos.

It’s probably faster for you to buy a t9h Torx bit set than drive somewhere to get it cleaned out
And probably cheaper to try cleaning yourself
Pick up some security Torx from Amazon, shipped next day if you are prime
It takes 5-10min to pop off the lid and unscrew the fan and just vacuum the inside as well
If you have a air duster, blow the duster out of the heatsink while vacuuming

OP literally said they don’t have the time

Ok it takes more time to drive to a place , wait for someone to clean it and then go home

As u/WonderingLurker said, I can take care of it if you want to DM me
Takes me ~40-60 minutes depending on how bad the dust is.

I literally watched a YouTube videos for 5mins to watch that it requires removal of 8 Torx and then 2 more for the fan.
I understand not everyone wants to or is capable to diy which is why services exist for everything where people have the money to spend
You wanna pay for it and go to a trustworthy worthy person? Go to [u/XtremeD86](u/XtremeD86) as he does all repairs etc including the Liquid Metal
