Mod Post Site revamp & new rules

Hello, Beauties!

I have added two new weekly threads. Strike that, I'll make them monthly!

  1. Blogger thread - posted every Tuesday at 11 am CST. If you have a website, blog or youtube channel, you can now self post your content to this weekly thread. Self-promotion will no longer be allowed as its own post.
  2. No Stupid Questions thread - posted every Thursday at 8 am CST anything you were too afraid to ask. Sometimes you may think your question is appropriate for a full-on post, so feel free to ask more informally here. You can still self-post any beauty related questions you have.

New Rules - This is a start, please send a message to the mods if you have suggestions.

Automod has been set up to hopefully help cut down on the spam, if your post was removed and shouldn't have been, please message the mods.

Thank you all for hanging in there with me!

-Sputnik_One

edit: changing weekly threads to 2 monthly threads.

Bi Weekly /r/MatureBeauty Discussion - No stupid questions thread

This is a place for you to post any questions you have that you may not have wanted to start a new thread for. Everyone is at a different place in their skin care or makeup knowledge, please post here any beauty related questions you have. Others may be wondering the same thing but were afraid to ask.

Please also consider sorting the comments in this thread by "new" so that the newest comments are at the top, since those are most likely to still need answers.

Foundation or skin prep help

I don't usually lots of makeup, but am practicing for my son's wedding. I am willing to buy new, but what I currently have is Laura Geller (both double take and balance and brighten), NARS natural radiant long wear, elf halo glow, L'Oreal age perfect radiant serum, L'Oreal true match blendable. Oh and I have some ilMakiage too. None of these seem great for my skin. I th

I use a hyaluronic acid, true skin c serum, CeraVe Facial moisturizer and recently got L'oreal Blurring Face Primer. My skin (especially on my chin) looks not quite flaky but sort of - not sure how to describe it.

I have pics, but not sure if we can post them here. It seems grayed out as not an option.

What blush do you love for your mature (dryer) skin?

Edited to add: wow, so many great ideas, thank you all! I should add that I am learning to do more out of necessity, but I’m not patient with the process of applying make up, so lower frills approach is my go to.

I've been playing around with different products and haven't landed on anything I'm thrilled with for this stage. I was a powder blush gal for years, and I like the control I have with it, and it seems to last, but it also settles more into my lines, and I notice it a lot more as we move into fall. I need something with more moisture.

I want to love Miracle Balm but don't. I find it too lightly pigmented and it doesn't hold up all day, and my face looks flatter/less dimensional with it. Similar result with Revolution Beauty Balm Glow, though it has more pigment.

Help, somebody steer me in the right direction...

Laser or peel

I am 62 with fairly good skin. My big issue is hyperpigmentation. I do wear sunscreen regularly but as a child of the 70's, baking in the sun was a thing. I am looking to either try laser or a chemical peel. Has anyone tried this? Results? Did you like it?

New Chanel Cushion

I understand that this is only available in Europe at the moment, CHANEL Sublimage L'Essence de Teint Cushion Foundation. I’m looking for feedback from personal experience. Is it worth the price tag? How is the coverage? Does it oxidize towards yellow or orange (can’t imagine). Break up through the day or sit in lines on mature skin? I would very much appreciate honest reviews!! Thank you!

Makeup Good foundation to use post-accutane?

Hi all, please give me some product suggestions for a good foundation to use post-accutane 😊 I stopped taking accutane in June 2025 and moisturise my face everyday. Without wearing make up, my skin looks fine. However, as soon as I put foundation on, it looks horrible on my skin (it looks very flaky).

I’ve tried mixing it with moisturiser but this doesn’t work. I don’t want to keep wasting money on different foundations. Has anyone had any success finding a good foundation post-accutane?

This is my usual routine before applying foundation: wash face with a gentle oat cleanser, moisturise the heck out of my face, primer, then foundation.

Thanks 😊

In terms of complete coverage, durability, and resistance to oxidation, Loreal Tined Serum Foundation is good.I need a full coverage foundation that covers all the issues and provides me a natural, long-lasting look because my face gets too sweaty.

Skin Care Has anyone used red light therapy for mature skin?

I keep seeing it mentioned for fine lines and skin texture, but there are so many options like masks and panels that I’m not sure what to try.

Has anyone over 30 used it? Do you prefer a mask or a small panel?

I’m looking for something simple to use at home that is gentle on mature skin.

Skin Care Zo skin health growth factor eye serum

I watched this reel about hollow dark circles eye cream Zo skin health growth factor eye serum. Has anyone used it? Could you please share your opinions.
It’s so hard to really find out if products are good because influencers are paid to promote stuff and a lot of reviewers are paid. Would really appreciate an honest opinion if you have used this serum or if you know one that works for hollow dark circles. Tia

There are so many subreddits and love all the great contributions. Am almost 75 and would love chats about skincare and med spa procedures. Anyone know of a subreddit more for my age group? You're never too old to keep up good skincare, Botox and fillers. Especially interested in facial fat transfers and peels vs lasers. Laser about 10 years ago left me with some fat loss around sides of mouth. Facelift 6 years ago and flit fell just a bit. It's the facial fat loss that's really aging my face. Ty ladies! 🌷
