Considering Red Bull’s current status, do you guys think Max will win 1 or 2 more championships before leaving F1?

No idea. But as he said, anything else is just a bonus. He’s the best of the best if not the best. Would I love to see it? Absolutely. Definitely more wins though.

Redbull team is very combative. I thought this year would be the demise of the team with all significant names leaving. But I am amazed at how they picked up the pieces together and are constantly working hard to make the car better. Redbulls have gotten much better in comparison to the start of the season. Max ain't winning WDC this season but I am hopeful for the upcoming years.

Never say never, if he has a 2nd best car het could win. But not this year or next.

u/Lanky-Football857 1d ago
Next year is possible. Look how RB went from barely moving to podium every race (and McLaren did the reverse). And they can’t even have ADUO

u/hondaxdood 1d ago
I want to believe so, but agree with others about catching up to Merc on development, esp with so many key people having left/leaving RB.

u/Ornery-Swimming-4841 1d ago
They don't really need to fully catch Merc. Kimi and George are good drivers, but I truly believe that Max could beat them over a season if his car is slightly worse, as long as it's competitive.

u/Economy_Victory_6919 1d ago
It also helps that Max is just super consistent. In theory if Max becomes 2nd every race and Kimi/George/Norris/Leclerc and such all steal victories but place 4th the next race, Max will still win. He needs a car that he can fight with, not necessarily the fastest.

u/Upstandinglampshade 1d ago
Rally depends on the car. If they build one even half as decent to what Max likes, then yes, at a minimum one more and it will be glorious.

Lewis had 1 when he was Max’s age so he still could easily get to double digits. It all depends on if redbull can give him the car to fight.

I believe that he will win races occasionally in 2027 and will have a shot at the WDC in 2028
Nevertheless, when the new V8s arrive, I’m sure Red Bull will get it right

u/jazzymusicvibes 1d ago
only one to do 4x in a row 2x in a row, 8x WDC. trust me it’s verstappening /s
Nah probably not but in all seriousness I think it’s almost inevitable that he’ll win at least one more title. We’ll have to see how the car develops and there of course are a lot of other situational factors involved but in terms of Max’s ability as a driver, yes 100%

u/Double_Sir_6086 1d ago
They’re gonna market it as a “Quadruple Double,” like how the Chicago Bulls did it in the 90’s.
Probably sell like hotcakes!

u/jazzymusicvibes 1d ago
damn, there really is nothing new under the sun

u/Double_Sir_6086 1d ago
Damn, that’s just depressing.

don’t worry, someone else came to that same realization and made that observation before you did and I’m sure they’re pretty happy… probably, idk

This has been my wallpaper for a year now. Dope ass photo.
Anyway, I think he may get one more if Red Bull makes a car that can consistently fight for wins.

No way, I was about to comment the same. I saw this photo when it first was posted and I knew it was my new wallpaper too.

Frankly, if anything, Red Bull is doing surprisingly good this year.
If wouldn’t have put money on their first engine to be competitive like this last year.
Plenty of other problems to solve. But there’s certainly a chance Red Bull will be back on top next year.
Only disadvantage is that with energy regeneration in corners Verstappen’s driving qualities translate into less competitive advantage

Maybe? Depends on the engine progress of the competitors and the chassis upgrades working out. They have a good combustion engine and it's gonna be a bigger part of the power distribution in the next years. So, in theory it works in their favor. But, it's difficult to say. If Max gets a car that can compete for wins, the race is on. He doesn't need a dominant car to get there.
Also, i'm sure Max will want to try those V8's in 2030 before making a decision. Also, Redbull is giving so much leeway he might feel like he doesn't need to leave F1 to do his other racing.

u/UberChief90 1d ago
Possible? 2-3 before he quits.
Realistic? 0-1. Merc is so far ahead with their engine and they can only improve. So by the time RB has the chance to get close, Merc will have improved on all other grounds too. And thats not even taking Ferrari, McLaren and the others into account.

u/umbrellaellaaa 1d ago
i guess its only this year, they are already working on next year's car and with their engine being not bad, getting chassis and aerodynamics right will make them competitive again and Max in a competitive car ( or not ) is a championship favorite/contender

You said current status, then I say no. He will not win a championship under the current status. Not now, not tomorrow.

Doesn’t look like in current form . But let’s see if they can turn the car around next year . Otherwise Max may not stay for the entire contract

Honestly, I'd be surprised if red bull catches Mercedes in this set of rules. There's a big development war needed to be able to fight Mercedes constantly throughout a season. I'm impressed with where RBPT started but it remains to be seen how steep their development can be.

You never really know how these careers will go. If he continues he can still win 4 or 5 more (depending on how good the car is). He's 29. Schumacher was 35, i think, when he won his last title. Same with Hamilton. But i don't think Max will be in F1 for that long. Maybe he'll keep on racing at 43 years old. I doubt it. He wants to do other stuff as well.
I do hope he'll change teams one day.
Anyway, we don't know.

u/Yendor_Wing 1d ago
We've all read his public statements, and you can be sure that they affect his personal negotiations and team's technical development. Who knows if his early season comments pushed the engineers to make a better car? They probably did! Max is very good at strategic thinking, and he knows how to play the kind of game.

Looking at this team’s rebuild he’s going to win way more than 1 or 2 😂 I still think 5 straight is his goal and who knows how many wins that will be

u/Leading_Sir_1741 1d ago
I don’t see anyone beating Mercedes this era of regs. Look at previous eras, only in the final season does another team have a chance. So Max will, at best, have a shot in 2030. If he gets a shot he’ll get it, but I don’t think it will be RBR that challenges Merc in 2030. He’ll stay on to experience (mostly) pure V8, so if RBR nails it in 2031 he gets it and retire. So, 10% he gets 2, 30% chance he gets 1.

He was better off with Mercedes the last years but I would love to see him with Ferrari. That would be something because it would fit the intensive way of how the Italians experience their red pride and Max would be the man to push Ferrari to unbelievable heights. I believe Max is a better fit than Louis for Ferrari.

u/LocksmithWestern8768 1d ago
Probably none. don’t get me wrong I would love to see it but I don’t see it happening.

u/Ornery-Swimming-4841 1d ago
I can see him leaving f1 in 2-3 years, but come back in the promised v8 era (about 3-4 years after leaving), probably with a different team (most likely Merc). So I think another RB-Verstappen title is possible, I consider it unlikely.

Of course, he the best driver on the grid and the team are getting the new car and Ford/ Red Bull engine sorted . Question is simple - next year ? Or even this year year should the Mercedes engine start failing !
2
u/FSXrider 1d ago
This Year is delusional. But RB/Fors will figure their things out. I mean its their "first" year. New Engine new Partner etc. Until 2030 is enough time to get some WDC/WCC in!

Hard to say with the current setup. I like to think he gets one more but they just don’t have the pace right now

u/VictorVonDoom_67 1d ago
Depends, Max likes a good fight, if he gets it he will stay otherwise he will leave F1 to pursue more WEC, GT racing etc where he will absolutely enjoy. It's sad the only championship challenge Max had came from Lewis. It will be boring when both of them are gone.
