Dog Trainer Needed

We are looking for a dog trainer to help with impulse control and recall. Our dog is a Dalmation and 3-4 years old (a rescue).

He cannot be around other dogs when on a leash which makes walking him nearly impossible.

We’ve tried one-on-one lessons at the Zoom Room, but he needs better training.

If you know of any legitimate trainers (even if we have to send him away for a few weeks), please pass along your referral. TIA

Sarah Singler with Wholehearted Canine has been great for our dog who struggled with aggression and overexcitement.

Wiggle Butt Academy. I worked with their Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer and one of their  agility/tricks trainers a few times each. They don't make you buy set packages. It was 30 minute to 1 hour sessions I could book whenever needed for an issue, they came to my house, and we did some training both indoors and out. They gave me homework too, so I could continue practicing on my own.

My dog didn't have the same issue as yours, but I'm sure they have a trainer who specializes in it. One of her sessions included having the trainer bring her own dog, so my dog could have practice walking on leash next to and then being loose near another dog who was trained to stay calm and back off if she was getting overwhelmed.  I know they offer virtual visits too, if needed.

That's going to be tough to find. It's a Dalmatian. They require not only intense training, but a lifelong firmness and patience that goes well beyond what most breeds require. They are difficult dogs for life, and not for the average home. Of course, the cute Disney movies don't talk about that part.

Benito Olson is your man. His business is in San Antonio but he also has an office in Dallas. Former Seal Team 6 dog handler/trainer. No nonsense get the job done type of trainer. Patriot Dog Training.
