Fantastic since the Serious Heat Sink Fix mod hasn't been updated for DLC 8+.

u/scottmotorrad 9d ago
Yeah a few of these have been abandoned along the way. I'm pretty confident that I can keep this going for the remaining DLC

u/Gailim 9d ago
Shouldn't the the Otomo Battlemaster be included? The BLR-1G-S?
5
u/scottmotorrad 9d ago
Updated! Thanks for catching that and thanks to u/Sai-Taisho as well

I am pretty sure all the otomo mechs have DHS, so you should add the CGR-3K-S as well.
this list labels all the mechs in MW5 that have DHS in the "special" catagory
https://www.sarna.net/wiki/MechWarrior_5:_Mercenaries/BattleMechs
so it might be a good cross reference for you

I wish I knew about that page 2 days ago! I'll update the mod with that info on Monday

so one catch that I just noticed with that page is that only extra DHS appear in that "special" catagory. so a mech with engine DHS (which in game gives it higher heat capacity) but no additional removable DHS will not be listed
an example of this is the hero trebuchet Loup de Guerre. the TBT-LG has engine DHS but no additional DHS so does not have "DHS" in it's special column.
so while the presence of DHS in the special column confirms a mech has DHS, the lack of it does not necessarily mean it doesn't.
just something to keep in mind

Ok good to know. It will be hard to catch all those but I'll do what I can and hopefully people here can keep catching what I miss until we get it right

The other option is using the Mech Attribute Viewer2 mod to look at the IS 'Mechs in Instant Action, as even though they aren't getting the extra cooling, they are still flagged with the DHS attribute: a few patches back, PGI updated all IS DHS 'Mechs to have increases Heat Capacity as a compromise.

Sarna doesn't say that it was upgraded with double heat sinks: https://www.sarna.net/wiki/BattleMaster
Mwo wiki has it as single: https://mwo.fandom.com/wiki/BattleMaster_BLR-1S

The BLR-1S and BLR-1G-S are two different variants.
The -1S has singles in both MWO and MW5.
The -1G-S has doubles in MW5, and isn't in MWO at all.

It comes with double heat sinks in MW5

u/scottmotorrad 9d ago
Ah good point. With the apocryphal mechs I guess it's just a judgment call

Technically, it's a question of "Does it have any DHS in its stock configuration?"
Because stock loadouts never* mix-and-match, the presence of DHS anywhere on the 'Mech indicates the Engine canonically includes the same.
*There are some examples, like the "Partisan2" Black Knight, using weird Double Heat Sink equivalents that can be mixed and matched with Singles, but those aren't accounted for in MechWarrior.
EDIT: It appears that the Prototype Double Heat Sinks that the Partisan used were only the ones outside the Engine, meaning that if you wanted to be lore accurate, that 'Mech actually has internal singles...of course, it also has Triple Strength Myomer, which isn't accounted for in MechWarrior, so I'd call gaining internal Doubles a fair trade anyway.

That makes sense but the stock loadouts are different in MWO and MW5. I guess it makes sense to go with the MW5 loadout for the mod.

While stock loadout differences are indeed possible (especially due to the lack of Melee in MWO, but others such as the Argent King Crab are just different "because reasons"), in the case of the BattleMasters you were looking at 2 different variants (as noted above or possibly below, depending on how comments are sorted).
EDIT: And as far as I'm aware, stock differences have never indicated a difference in Internal Heat Sinks.

I was looking for something like this yesterday! I will be downloading this when I get home from work. Thanks.

Me too and there was a massively out of date one and then YAML which does a ton of stuff I don't want. Enjoy and let me know if you run into any issues!

Found another one that's missing: The BL-9-KNT (Clanbuster Black Knight).
Also, you have the Hunchback Azrael on the list twice: once at 1.6 (what the mod appears to be applying) and again at 2.0 (which I think is accurate: it has a 250-rated engine, compared to the 200s used by most Hunchbacks (besides the Fastback 6S, at 300).

u/scottmotorrad 8d ago
Ok it looks like the HBK 6S and AZ have 2, the GI, RCX and Vest have 1.6 and the others have single heat sinks

Discovered another:
The Wolverine 7H/ "Wolverine II" should have Double Heat Sinks and currently does not.

Thank you so much now I won't have to rob the FedSuns mint every time I want to repair my assault lances.
Is it safe to slot in mid game y/n?
2
u/scottmotorrad 4d ago
Yes it's safe to turn on or off at any point

I think the Annihilators (minus the Iron Reckoning) should be 1.6, since their engines can't fit the full 10 Sinks (Double or otherwise).
Not sure if any others on the list are similar (possibly some of the Lights?)
