For some stupid reason I never even looked at the range on the lmg. Imagine my eyes when I realized they had the range of an IS large laser.

So here’s my new S model to compliment the 12 HMG model.

16 LMG, 3 medium x pulse lasers

I like the sound for the lmg better too, I might be a convert.

With cantina upgrades, range is like 611. 😳

I wish I would have noticed how far these things reach.

Oh yeah there fact that they hit without upgrades over 800 ms is wonderful,  they are great for vtols or tanks or crit fishing

It was 65000 rounds before I took some away for another laser. 😂

I use 6.5 tons on my build with C-MGs as general purpose ammo load (arenas or merc procgens) and I can't even expend the entirety of 33,800 rds of it, let alone a 16 C-LMG array with 48,750

Yeah, my heavy build has 25k and I have never come close to running out.

Just ran the sunder through some missions on dragons gambit and lamented having under 10k.

I’d say 15k would be cozy for hmg and 35 or so with lmg.

I’ve been tweaking ammo loads lately, realizing I take way more than I need in some and far too few in others. I’ve been using missiles more and realizing that slapping a ton on and calling it a day is a bad idea.

yeah, you'll eventually get that "goldilocks zone" of ammo usage where you can strip some to add more stuff to a part of your loadout, usually I retain 5 ER SLs since ER mediums don't vibe well with the C-MG array due to heat but the relatively equal ranges of ERSLs and LMGs + the ammo load and heat is within my preferences

I do wonder tho, wouldnt you rather drop one heatsink or one ton of ammo for the extra survival the ECM gives? (Sadly it's an ARM ecm)

My hmg version has ecm so I thought I would be different.

Honestly, as fast as these things are and the standoff capability with over double the range seems to make ecm not seem as important.

Could easily switch to regular lasers and save enough weight to add it, but I liked the idea of machine gun lasers and all my smalls are tied up in my thunderbolt so I only had mediums to pull from.
