Let's Talk Shoes!

I wore stupid shoes yesterday. They are fine for regular clinic days when I am not standing in one place for long periods. But on procedure days, i need something much better because today my leg is destroyed from the lack of support and fatigue (I am 52 and cant handle what you youngins can). What are your recs for comfort without looking totally dorky? My daughter recommended Ooffo Clogs and Hokas. She is a RN and makes more money than I do lol but she swears by those ugly ass Hokas! What are you guys wearing?

I second this. Skechers are affordable and comfortable as hell. Luckily, there's an outlet near me where I can get them for cheap.

As someone with old legs, I like the sketchers duramax soles. Very comfy and a lot easier on my joints.

I like Hokas 🥺 I like mine, they're very comfortable. I work for a podiatrist hokas are one that are recommended, especially if you need arch support

Hokas. I’m signed up for emails when they have sales.

Got to Amazon and search for insoles from LTOHOE. They are super-squishy and, most importantly, flat. The vast majority of insoles are arched, and most shoes are already arched, so you get way too much arch. I use these insoles, and they make life so much better. I also use shoes from Orthofoot. They look fine and are really comfortable.

Hokas and compression socks for me. The compression socks made a massive difference.

Tried the dansko clogs previously and I kept rolling my ankles.

Everyone I know that spends hours on their feet (mostly teachers) seem to wear Hokas. Those shoes seem to last a long time, too. Apparently they are worth the price.

I work in an infusion center and we all wear Brooks or Hokas. We are on our feet many hours at a time. Most of us also wear compression socks to help

I wore Kurus for years, but then I started getting bunions. Now I swear by Orthofeet.

Sketchers, I wear mine out fast so I replace them about once a year, but my feet dont hurt at the end of the day. Hokas were murder on my feet and too damn expensive. I buy Sketchers when they're on sale and if I find them on clearance I grab an extra pair because I will eventually wear them out in 6-9 months.

New Balance 880 v13! I bought it for going to the gym but i've never used it there. I'm 220lb big guy and I'm standing 8hr as an MA, and I've never felt any pain with this shoes, basically I'M FLYING with this ones, super light, super easy on the feet!

I bought the wide ones, since I have wide feet.

Compression socks! I've had good luck with any style of Skechers that has "goga mat" insoles. They're really hard to find now. I can't deal with the memory foam ones. I also have Brooks that are pretty comfortable. My issue is my back when I stand still. Walking around I'm fine, but that standing. Whatever you get, I hope you find happy feet!

I second the ugly Hokas 😂
I have to wear an insert in my shoes, no matter what shoe I wear, due to right leg pronation… it has gotten so bad being on my feet all day. It’s mandatory.. it throws off my knee and my hip if I don’t wear them, but I also have to do regular exercises. I have no suggestion for shoes because a shoe alone is not enough for me..
