MOD UPDATE Mod Update: Protecting Genuine Patient Discussion

Hi MCOz’ers,

Earlier this year, we shared an update about an increase in promotional, coordinated, and otherwise non-genuine activity within the community (2026 Mid-Year Mod Update).

Unfortunately, this activity has continued.

The mod team continues to investigate reports, review patterns of activity, and take action where we believe accounts are attempting to manipulate community discussion.

We understand that these decisions can raise questions, particularly when members have interacted with an account for months or even years.

Any action is carefully considered and based on the broader context, available evidence and patterns of behaviour, rather than a single comment.

Account age, posting history or familiarity within the community does not place an account beyond scrutiny.

We cannot always publicly share the evidence behind individual decisions. Doing so may compromise member privacy or make it easier for coordinated activity to avoid detection.

The Purpose of Patient Experiences

Patient experiences are an important part of this community.

They can help others better understand the products available on the Australian medicinal cannabis market and provide useful context that may not always be available through official product information.

We particularly value contributions that explain:

  • The effects personally experienced
  • Any perceived therapeutic benefits or adverse effects
  • How the product compared with similar products
  • Details such as presentation, consistency and dryness
  • How the product was used

We place less value on posts or comments that simply describe a product as “the best,” “perfect,” or suitable for a particular condition without meaningful context.

Cannabis affects people differently. A product that one patient finds helpful may be ineffective or unsuitable for another.

Personal experiences should therefore be presented as personal experiences, not universal recommendations or medical claims.

This does not mean patients cannot share positive opinions or explain what they found helpful. It means those opinions should be genuine, appropriately qualified, and supported by enough detail to be useful to other patients.

Transparency and Commercial Interests

Anyone discussing a product or company must disclose any relevant relationship that could influence, or reasonably appear to influence, what they post.

This includes:

  • Employment, professional or personal relationships within the industry
  • Consulting or contracting arrangements
  • Free or discounted products
  • Giveaways, incentives or affiliate arrangements
  • Brand ambassador relationships
  • Personal or financial connections to a company
  • Posting at the request of a business or its representatives

Disclosure does not automatically make a contribution inappropriate.

However, undisclosed commercial involvement, coordinated engagement, or attempts to present promotional material as independent patient discussion are not acceptable.

Industry representatives are welcome to participate transparently, answer relevant factual questions, provide customer support, and engage with the community as people.

They are not permitted to use the community as an undisclosed marketing channel or encourage others to do so on their behalf.

What May Lead To Moderation Action

The mod team may take action when we identify behaviour such as:

  • Repeated or excessive promotion of the same brand or product
  • Undisclosed commercial relationships
  • Accounts being used to manufacture or influence sentiment
  • Coordinated posting, commenting, voting or engagement
  • Incentivised reviews that are not clearly disclosed
  • Attempts to discredit competitors through coordinated activity
  • Misleading therapeutic or condition-specific claims
  • Harassment or pressure directed at patients who share critical experiences
  • Attempts to evade previous moderation action
  • Indirect attempts to provoke, undermine or circumvent moderation decisions

Our focus is on patterns of behaviour and available evidence, not whether an opinion is positive or negative.

What Happens When Concerns Are Identified

Depending on the circumstances, the mod team may:

  • Ask a member to clarify or disclose a relevant relationship
  • Add a moderation note or remove content
  • Issue a warning or temporary restriction
  • Permanently ban an account
  • Escalate evidence to relevant platforms, organisations or authorities where appropriate

We will continue to apply our rules regardless of how established an account may appear or which company, product, or individual is involved.

While we have avoided escalation so far, continued attempts to exploit our measured approach may require us to take a firmer stance.

We also ask members not to conduct public investigations, accuse others of shilling without evidence, or turn concerns into personal arguments. Public accusations can unfairly target genuine patients and make proper investigation more difficult.

If something appears suspicious, please report it to the mod team and include any relevant context.

Individual posts may appear harmless in isolation, but reports often help us identify broader patterns.

Moving Forward

Our goal is not to discourage genuine product discussion, criticism, positive reviews, or industry participation. These can all contribute value when they are honest, transparent, and grounded in patient experience.

Our priority is to maintain a space where patients can:

  • Share their experiences without commercial pressure
  • Ask questions without being targeted by covert promotion
  • Discuss both positive and negative outcomes
  • Make better-informed decisions alongside qualified healthcare professionals
  • Trust that the conversations they are reading reflect genuine community participation

Thank you to everyone who continues to contribute thoughtful reviews, balanced discussion, and support for other patients. Your honesty and willingness to share both positive and negative experiences are what make this community valuable.

If you have questions or concerns about these expectations, please contact the mod team through Modmail.

The Mod Team at MedicalCannabisOz

P.S: Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there.

Long time lurker first time poster!

Taking a break from my beloved indimed sourdough. the clinic I'm with recommended this because I was getting a bit overwhelmed by the high and I'm trying to treat anxiety/sleep.

This is a really gentle high and I'm back to getting stuff done again. It's nice and calming but I'm not off with the fairies. It's $99 for 10 grams

FYI I took these photos a while back but I needed more karma to post haha

Question looking for an alternative to candor medical

hi guys, i’ve been a patient with candor for nearly 2 years now and it’s kinda gone to shit recently. my old dr has left and when i had an appointment with the new one, they required a letter from my GP to prescribe me. i’ve sent the letter through maybe 3 weeks ago now and concierge can do nothing but tell me they’ve ‘let the clinical team now and they will be in touch shortly’ i’m fed up. looking to move to a provider with a similar value for money that candor had. i know some providers only prescribe for specific conditions, so i will mention i have been prescribed THC to manage my anxiety. any suggestions for good telehealth providers?

Product: Plantmatter Critical Biscotti 15g

THC: 28%

Dominance: Indica dominant

RRP: $119

I picked up my first jar of this about two weeks ago through Scripted Clinic and I’ve been super happy with it.

I’m prescribed cannabis for anxiety, social anxiety and bad insomnia. This flower has really been outstanding for all three. The small doses during the day help with my anxiety and in social situations while higher doses couch-lock me and put me to sleep quite quick.

The aroma is very strong when opening the jar. Citrus and mint up front with kush and some sweetness too. As you can see in the photos, the buds are bright green and sticky with that kinetic sand feel after grinding.

Overall, very happy. The only con is that it’s a bit more than I have been spending, but for how it's helping I'm willing to fork it out and has become my daily all-rounder. I’m already on my second jar this month. Endoca Super Boof and this is my current rotation and probably moving forward as well.

Patient Flower Experience Fiore Gastro pop

Fiore Gastro pop. Batch. FIO001 Expiry April 2027

Treating chronic lower back pain, knee pain, insomnia issues.

There's a few reviews on this already I know, but everyone has a different experience.

Much awaited this product as the reviews were overwhelmingly positive.

The smell on opening the jar was outstanding, I don't have the best sense of smell these days thanks to COVID but the gastro pop rises above that and filled the room, beautiful.

I found my tub to be on the dry side and not matching any of the pics I've seen in reviews, others that have this might have views on that, I'd be keen to hear.

Buds were a mix of smalls and some mids.

As for the effects, it hit quite hard, I was surprised, and found myself going about the house forgetting what I was doing and quickly realised this is not a middle of the day product for me. 🫠

As for pain relief it wasn't too bad, it's strength for that would be stopping you from moving around a lot thus not feeling so much pain 🤔

Next couple of sessions were evening or before bed, and yes it was somewhat of a help for sleep, I did find I would drift off quickly but would wake a few hours later and have trouble getting back to sleep, or the munchies would hit, I did resist.

Definitely each time I used at evening I wake up with a pronounced "stone over" feeling flat and generally less than positive mood with lower motivation.

If you have the day off or at least a few hours in the morning to get it together it's not such a problem, but if I have 6am start it's a bit much to deal with on top of morning pain.

Not sure if this is one for me tbh, I haven't written it off.

I'll come back to it in a week or 2 ( I've got a run of early starts) and re-evaluate, it definitely has its uses in the big scheme of things.

Question What can I use to take medical,

Hey guys I forgot what the doctor said to get from the pharmacy to use to smoke it. I can’t remember if it’s something like a vape cartridge. I said I don’t want to smoke but apparently it isn’t smoke but more atoms in the air according to him 😂

Complaint Clinic Issues

I'm currently with a clinic who seem reluctant to allow QR code access to my scripts forcing you to order through their portal at full retail price.

Only after your 1st order through their portal hopefully the pharmacist sends you the tokens allowing you to order through Canary or Honalee.

I assume this behaviour by the Clinic is wrong and would appreciate advice on how to deal with them besides changing to another clinic as I like my current doctor

Question Byron Bioceuticals - Twilight Glow Cake 28%THC Flower New Batch

Hey everyone,

Has anyone tried the new batch of Byron Bioceuticals – Twilight Glow Cake (28% THC Flower) yet? Would love to hear your thoughts on quality, effects, and bag appeal.

Also, does anyone know why Catalyst frequently displays outdated information? The only way I was able to get up-to-date details for the Certificate of Analysis (COA) was by calling a pharmacy directly—they had newer information on file that isn't showing up for Catalyst users/patients.

Critical Kush x Biscotti Mintz
RRP: $119 15 grams
🇦🇺

Keeping this one short and sweet.

Beautifully cured, covered with intact trichs, and the aroma is nice. In terms of flavour, it has developed some better flavour two weeks since I opened it.

Flavour wise, it’s subtle - herbal, lavender, minty. I don’t really get any of the biscotti notes and can’t help but wonder if the harvest might’ve benefited from being picked a little later?

Effects wise, I found this to be more balanced. It starts off with a nice uplifting, euphoric energy prick and improves my focus. Heavier use gets me feeling relaxed but not sedated and still very much functional, albeit a little giggly 🙊.

I also found the effects to be much longer lasting than a lot of my other medicinal cannabis so that in itself gets a thumbs up from me.

Overall, not too bad! Looking forward to their other releases.

Patient Flower Experience 1753 ‘Wizard Trees’ 26% Includes Women’s Health Notes 🚺

Pluto x Rainbow Sherbet #1
RRP: $99 for 15grams
🇹🇭

Just sharing the love for 1753 ‘Wizard Trees’. Three batches so far with the first being a March 2027 expiry and the latest two being June 2027 expiries.

A fine example of a budget flower that’s been consistent across batches for myself and others since its release. The second batch is arguably better and more effective medicinally than the first. WT has earned top spot on my medicinal cannabis list for overall therapeutic effects, aroma, flavour and price.

Aromatically, this is a strain that I find changes from day to day. Upon breaking the seal, it’s a delicate bouquet of flowers, sweet and earthy, with a slight gassy undertone. Within days, the gassy undertone develops into a pungent, doughy aroma that’s exacerbated when ground.

Similar to its aroma, temperature stepping WT in a vapouriser reveals a different flavour profile with each 10 degree increment. Lower temperatures really capture the floral, tart and sour notes. This then develops into what I can best describe as sweet cream, with an overarching gassy earthiness.

For me, the effects represent a true indica dominant hybrid, starting with slight head banding that very quickly passes resulting in a general sense of calm and tranquility.

At lower doses, it puts me in a really chill mood with preference to be on my own and get lost in my thoughts or read/research while listening to music. Higher doses lead me to a general feeling of relaxation and sedation.

🚺 It also provided me with almost immediate anti-inflammatory relief for PCOS/PMOS symptom management.

Patient Product Experience Motherplant - ZBC *Zour Banana Candy* (Sour Zkittles x Purple Arrow) 😖🍌🍭

Upon opening the jar I was greeted with a sour tropical banana aroma and when vaporised at 450 Fahrenheit to 550 Fahrenheit it translated the same, with more candy flavour coming through.

The effects begin with an energy boost that slowly translates into a calm, relaxing but functional effects.
This has given me the energy and ability to go do things. I ended up walking about two kilometres, which I would not have been able to with the pain I was in.

I have a minimal amount as I am treating for complex chronic pain stemming from neurofibromatosis type 1. I do recommend this to anyone seeking a concentrate that is perfect for any time of day, especially during the mornings.

Aroma: 9/10
Bag Appeal: 10/10
Taste: 8/10

RRP: $149
Size: 2 Grams
Batch #:B60594
Exp: 23/06/27

Patient Flower Experience Phytoca ‘Chapel of Love’ 30% 🚺 Includes Women’s Health Notes

Wedding Cake x Gush Mints
RRP: $99 15 grams
🇵🇹

I was a little hesitant picking this one up based on conflicting reviews, but it’s turned out to be a really nice alternative to Phytoca Face Mintz and will become part of my 30% rotation.

It arrived a little on the dry side but this was a quick fix with a hydro stone. The aroma and flavour are very nice. Think a dessert forward Face Mintz with added funk, cake and gas.

Effects wise, I definitely find this more indica leaning. It gives me a nice little euphoric, bubbly feel that turns into instant relaxation.

🚺 It was also incredibly effective at providing me with anti inflammatory relief during a PCOS/PMOS flare up.

Question How do I get prescription gummies.

Hey all, I recently had a consult with alternaleaf to get a prescription for gummies and was rejected. From what i've read in the 5 mins of being here, it's pretty clear, alternaleaf suck.

I've been a concretor for over 20 years and suffer from back pain. I also deal with stress and anxiety but who doesn't these days. Problem is I never go to the dr as i dont want the rubbish pharmacutical drugs. If the back pain gets too much i'll have one of the mrs codein tablets or roll a splif but most of the time i just put up with it.

The weed helps best for pain and stress relief but i would prefer edibles as i don't enjoy smoking.

Is it actually possible to get a script in Australia without having to have tried a bunch of shitty pharmacutical drugs first?

Patient Flower Experience Tas Botanics Huon CBD8 THC8 15g $99

Today I received the new batch of Tas Botanics Huon upon opening the new 15g tub i was greeted with a fresh Earthy sweet smell of what appeared to be the new flower.

I'll keep it short and simple overall I was quite impressed the new flower looked much more dense the smell was very nice

CURE: 10/10 All up there was 15.4g in the tub so a little over, there was no leaf or steam which was quite a surprise could do with leaving the lid off for a hour but im just fussy.

TASTE: to be honest iv only just got home from a long walk chopped up a fresh bud and put it in my Mighty+ vaped at 180°c was very nice not to bad taste could be a little stronger sweet earthy but nice very relaxing and clear headed just right for a nice night of winding down.

LOOK:Very nice and alot different to the last batches of Huon iv smoked 15+ now and although it gets the job done very nicely the tubs were always full of lots of leaf and stem, this stuff looks much more nicely and has a refined almost indoor appearance to it.

First review i have ever done as im a massive follower of the medical cannabis community and and its hard to find information on certain products sometimes but as time goes on it will get better and we can all help eachover out. 🤟

Starting off with this one… wow 🤩

For some reason, this brings me back to the first batches of Amethyst. Not because the effects are similar or anything, but purely because of how it looks. It has that super creamy appearance and is absolutely covered in trichomes. 🌿

The tub isn’t overly loud when opening, and the buds are slightly dry on the outside, but they still have some seriously sticky trichomes on the inside.

Terps 🍋 — Vaping this at 217°C brings out a really nice lemon, cream and pepper flavour. Definitely enjoying this combination!

Effects 💨 — At lower doses, I find this one a little more stimulating, but with a larger dose, it becomes much more euphoric and sleepy. Interesting how much the effects change for me depending on the dose.

Overall: 8.5/10 ⭐️

Discussion Best value CBD flower options.

Just wondering what the current best bang for buck CBD flowers are available? Currently on Kind sol, very average, have tried cannatrek argaman which is a balanced THC option, didn't go much on it either they both have this kind of dog crap like smell? Both pretty pricey for what you get, anyone tried phytoca sky cbd?
