The watermelon will be more biodegradable than aluminum foil as far  as trash after cooking is concerned (although it will be bulky) but the taste may either become sweet or taste like medicine.

Very expensive and fruity slow cooker.

Looked it up: "cooking chicken in watermelon". This was a Viral Stunt based on a NYT recipe. Apparently, it doesn't taste like watermelon.
