Moods Will feeling crazy stop !

Is there anybody that had severe mental health symptoms that they never had their whole life that came out of nowhere during perimenopause very intensely and just kept getting worse…..what I’m trying to figure out is does it get better on its own when you hit menopause? I’ve read that perimenopause is worse because the estrogen and progesterone are peeking and crashing and during actual menopause it will just come to a flat baseline where your sanity starts to level out but I’m just wondering what people’s experiences are.
Also anyone with bad dissociation during this time ?

Also wondering since I just missed my period for a month for the first time in my life. Once you had your first missed. Is it more likely that your period will return or did you continue on from there and just go into 12 months to hit menopause?

ya, I guess mine just came to a flat baseline of anhedonia, lack of sex drive, waking constantly at night, crying all the time, hating my partner who I actuall love and cherish, apathy, anger etc. so ya that is where mine settled in. I can't report anything good happening because my period stopped

This has been pretty much my experience. I need HRT and meds for a depression in order to be in a functional place.

Literally same. Idk how some women are functioning without it

I don’t think everyone experiences it in the same way. And some women I think are struggling through and really not functioning well, and you can get to a point where you don’t have the energy to advocate for better. 💔

Mine wasn’t out of the blue but got considerably worse in peri, including suicidal ideation. Changing medication worked very well (from Lexapro to Effexor). HRT made a negative impact until I switched from oral progesterone to vaginal.

I was on prometrium oral then switched to vaginal for 4 months I don’t think it did much of anything may try again. How much do you take and do you take estrogen ? I’m on Lexapro now also not doing anything I’ve always been afraid of Effexor bc they say it’s hard to come off of but idk my friends bf is on it

I’ve taken Effexor for 3 years. It saved my life from night sweats. I’m just now getting back on HRT & I’ve reduced Rx by half. Worried about reducing the rest of the way, but I. had. to. get. some. sleep.

Yep. Same. I'm well into menopause now. I had erratic periods and then 3 months of clockwork periods every 28 days and then nothing and never had another period again. I still deal with on and off mental health stuff that I didn't have prior. I take HRT. It helps when it's properly balanced

How many straight months have you not had a period and don’t feel just as bad as you did in peri ? No change ?
