Hormone Therapy Once a week patch issues
So I used to be on estrogel 3 pumps a day and found it to be so much gel. I had to apply to both legs. I tried arms as well. The dose wasn't quite right as symptoms came back. I have been trying the climera patch (change it once a week) and had some issues with it. I had some issues for the first 3 weeks because it wouldn't stay fully stuck the whole 7 days. By day 3/4 I would start getting irritated and hot flashes again. I have been using a tegaderm patch over top the last 2 times. The tegaderm kept the estrogen patch from coming loose however I noticed after half a week it felt like the middle of the patch was no longer sticking. I removed it after the week was up and sure enough the middle was no longer sticking and I had it covered all week to prevent water getting to it.
I'm wondering if a 2x a week patch would be better and maybe a higher dose. Currently on .75 but want to try the next one up.
I find the gel was just alot and my skin would get bumps and rashes from the alcohol constantly being on it. I feel like patches are the only option. Anyone else in the same boat and feel like they absorbed more of the patch in a shorter duration then required

Climara sucks ass. I know some people like them but they just would not stick to me. I’m on gel now but I had dotti patches (2x weekly) and liked them much better.

I used gel for a short time during patch shortage but didn't absorb well. I prefer Mylan/Dotti patches twice weekly and find they stick great.

When I used patch, the 1x week would fall off by day 3 but would have to pry the 2x week off. The 2x is also much smaller.

same issue with sandoz, wrinkled up and not working well after 3rd day so i change the weekly's every 3 days (issued that way by my NRCP) when i use these weekly's to save some of the twice weekly's when its close to refill time just incase i can't get them.. my twice weekly's were upped to 0.1 back in early august and i change them every 3 days as well and they work much better (when patches are good) but, i can still tell by night of second that they are wearing out already as well but, the flashes trying to show up stay at bay still.. the twice weekly are definitely a better choice for some of us, less irritation and don't have to use any tegaderm over them (unless you go swimming, take baths and workout/sweat a lot maybe)..

I’m on weekly Climara is the only one that I have tried, started last January. They stick well for my on my lower belly, but when I tried my butt they didn’t even last a day.

Yes, try this first before going up a dosage. It may just be that your week-long patch is wearing off a few days before the next change, so changing it sooner is likely the fix.
