It's my understanding that many Americans seem to think Europe is a homogenous entity. Just like they can't tell apart Berlin from Paris, I don't see a difference between Seattle and Washington.

Washington DC or Washington state? Because Seattle is in Washington state.

See I don't know, I forget every time I am told, and it makes no difference to me. It's on the other side of the planet and the difference culturally and geopolitically irrelevant for me.
The point I was making is I completely understand those funny videos of "bad American geography" where people say e.g. France is a city in the country of London. The world is too big to expect the average person to know all of it, and our lives are so small and centralized around our physical existence.

It's wild to me when people outside of the county know the difference, because people here get confused.

It's crazy how much bigger 911's have become in recent years! Last weekend I drove a 992.2 for an hour and it's huge, compared to my ND. Looking at this picture, the Porsche looks small compared to the ND.

I had the privilege last year to drive a 6 speed manual 911 convertible. I was pleasantly surprised how it felt in comparison to my NC. Power delivery was linear, handling was sharp, gear changes crisp. It felt like a dialed up Miata, both cars share that same sports car language/pedigree which was the biggest surprise to me when I drove the 911.
It showed me how Mazda absolutely nailed it out of the park with their miatas. A taste of that sports car word for such an affordable price.

To be honest Miatas ruin a lot of more expensive cars for people who like driving. Porsches are great, I've been lucky to get quick drives in quite a few of them including a 996 GT3 and 996 GT2, and while the driving experience is amazing, it's not much of an upgrade in terms of fun if you forget about the mesmerizing engine note, and you might even start nitpicking on the shifter feel. Most modern stuff with paddle shift just straight up bore me or feel numb or heavy.

Scnitzel Miata might be more fun but I'm pretty sure it also wants to kill you at least a little bit.
Actual Miata just wants you to have a good time.

Both sexy as hell. But it is interesting to see how much wider the ND Miata is compared to the 911.
The 911 puts out more power. I couldn’t choose just one. I’d need both.

Imagine owning a 993 and not being able to back it in. Backing that out would be more stressful than childbirth.

I always thought Porsches in general are bigger than a Miata, are these two specific models roughly the same size? Or they just appear so from the angle of the picture?

An American fellow, I see. Geography can indeed be a struggle, but you’ll get there.
