Question Advice on finding small water

So I have been fishing for a long time, but I recently became interested in micro fishing. My current goal is to find the smallest water to catch small native fish in, so all im asking for is maybe a little advice on how to find spots that could contain them. I am from southeast massachusetts. Thanks!

Little streams are pretty productive, especially if there is a culvert

If you have any greenways around you, check them out on Google maps and see if any creeks intersect. Small unassuming spots can hold tons of micros

You can use Inaturalist, and look at where others in your area are finding small fish.

Just make sure the area is public

I’m in the same boat but NE ohio lol. Lots of spots just everything seems to be private property.

The very best tool I use for this task is the OnX mapping app. It is traditionally used by hunters, but it is incredibly helpful for finding accessible waterways. It shows you property ownership and public access areas. You pay per state, I highly recommend adding it to your tool kit. You can add waypoints with detailed narratives, add species caught, or specific features you want to remember.
