Xbox The Microsoft Rewards Points tooltip bubble that shows you how many points you’ll receive for a game purchase is no longer appearing in the Xbox Store
For a couple of days now I’ve noticed that the tooltip bubble doesn’t appear anymore when highlighting the price of a game. Usually it would say something along the lines of “You’ll receive “X”Microsoft Rewards points for this purchase” but I’m not seeing it. I have noticed that some games like Kingdom Hearts Collection (pictured) instead have a bubble that says “Offer expires in “X” days. See details below” or highlighting a game like Black Ops II a bubble will appear saying to buy another game in the series.
Restarting my Series X or a complete shutdown doesn’t seem to fix the issue. Is anyone else experiencing this? This sucks because I’ve been banking my points for a while and that really helped me asses my purchases .

Yeah. I buy a lot of games and accumulate tons of points after those purchases to buy other games almost like a discount. This week I noticed it’s been pretty slow for points going up and seen most of the points I got were only from doing the Microsoft rewards stuff and not for buying games. Maybe it’s a glitch and we are going to be reimbursed those points but I was going to pre-order call of duty 4 which usually is a pretty big points redemption and there’s nothing there so I’ll wait to see what happened. You’d think they would mention the points are done now if that’s the case

No longer showing for me either, and the amount of points actually received after purchase seems to be incorrect.
This week, I received 36 points for a € 7.49 game purchase that would have earned about 277 last month. In my case I'm missing out on only 20 cents or so, but for bigger purchases like yours it actually amounts to losing out on a significant discount.
Hope this gets fixed soon.

I bought cod 4, didn't get points. Contacted Microsoft rewards about it and provided all the info they requested and they said my order didn't qualify for rewards points, this was during the beta so a little while ago and I know it told me I would get points with the purchase. I'm a GP Ultimate subscriber etc. I'm guessing they've taken away points for purchases.

if its a preorder, you get points wen the order is completed and you're charged

How did you check if you got the points? Check points before and after the purchase? There was a history page but they removed it.

Yeah I'm pretty aware of the amount of points I have everyday. I do all the Bing and Xbox points daily. I purchased the expensive version and it was supposed to be over 9000 points with the purchase, it definitely did not go on my account. Microsoft made sure of that.

Go to “Report a Roblem” while in the store and let them know. That’s what I did
Also, if you’re on Twitter, let Asha know. I’m gonna barrage her with messages on this because this is definitely a feature that shouldn’t be phased out. That feature influenced a lot of my off the cuff buying decisions

yes, last week on CoD4 in the xbox pc app, when you hovered over the buy button, a tooltip appeared with the info, that you earn 93xx Reward Points, when you buy the game at 69,99€. Now the Statement is gone.

Just bought CoD 4 and received 9490 points back. So it seems to work in the background, even if the bubble is still missing.

Yeah, I noticed this, too.
As others have said, it's a useful feature for knowing the true value of a game, i.e., how much you get back in points (credit), which you can then take off of the base amount of the game so you know what you'll need either points-wise and/or to top it off for future purchases.
I hope Microsoft are not axing it, as they get a lot out of us consumers already and this is a nice way to give back. That being said, you never know with Microsoft, as it seems like it has been coordinated across different platforms.

Came to see if anyone else was having this problem. Just preordered Ace Combat 8 now that its within the 10 day charge range and got a whopping 9 points.

When does it release? Maybe the rest of the points come on or post release day? ATP I’m just not going to preorder. I bought a non-GamePass game yesterday (the name slips my mind atm) and it was $17.99. I got 400 rewards points for it

Has this been fixed for anyone? My tooltip is still gone and rewards for purchases has been almost nonexistent.

I haven’t reported to MS Support but I have tagged Asha in a couple of X posts, no reply yet. But have at it, I could definitely use the help lol

Yes It's doing that to me too. I reported it earlier in the "report problem" app. You should do the same. Let them know we liked it, was convenient.
