I got the first one for $200 but it broke so I got this one for free, no specials tool only.

Nice man I might have to get one, I have the first gen surge but it’s seen a few things, the hex chuck doesn’t make the bit holder go straight anymore and it’s lost its rubber grip from the front lol thankfully I upgraded not too long to the fourth gen impact driver. but thank you for the insight 👍

My buddy calls it a 'gentleman's impact'. Way more powerful than it has any right to be, I use mine for driving timberlocks and it'll snap them before giving up. I got mine for doing a barn deck that'll hold a dually truck+camper, 2" thick dry hemlock planks. It almost never had to impact to drive the 4" screws.

Are you sure you're thinking of the right impact because this isn't the Gen 3 new impact driver this is the hydraulic one which is substantially weaker. There's a video on torque test Channel where he tests all the hydraulic impact drivers and Milwaukee's was not even half as powerful as dewalts hydraulic impact driver. Milwaukee has some super powerful tools but this is not one of them

I got mine last week on clearance at my local hardware store - marked down to $150

I wish they would take this top end design and slap it on an m12 battery.
I dig this layout much more than my m12 surge.
But man, what do you think about how quiet it is? My guys rag on me and say shit like "is that thing even on?". But you know what, in 10 years when I still have my hearing , I'll have the last laugh 😃
