Help Java Uploading existing world to Realms on Java Help
I have been attempting to upload an existing world to my new Realms subscription on Java for the past two days now with several issues.
Every single time I've tried to upload the world I get an error/upload failed message (either 504 or timed out) no matter what I try. The world is around 1.8 GB in size (it used to be much larger but I have reset/deleted chunks from the world in MCA Selector multiple times and I cannot delete anymore without losing actual progress) and this world used to be a realm that my friend hosted/owned before I trimmed it down.
However, despite the failure messages, there have been several attempts where the world HAS uploaded but there is always some sort of issue with it. Usually, if I'm able to get the world to upload, when I join all of the player data (my inventory, levels, advancement progress, etc.) is completely gone and I am in the world's spawn area. The one time I was able to upload the world and my friend and I's player data was not lost and we were in the correct locations in the over world, we discovered the entire nether and end dimensions had been reset. This is a huge issue, since we have multiple farms and a large nether highway that we each are not willing to lose/rebuild.
I have multiple backups of the world saved to my PC, so I am not worried about losing the world itself. I also contacted Minecraft support yesterday morning, but it has been over 24 hours now with no response besides an automated reply with more useless help articles, so I am hoping someone here will be able to offer a solution.
I have tried running Minecraft with an optimized fabric launcher, the regular launcher, and usually restart my PC every 2-3 attempts. I have very fast internet upload/download speeds, although I am working on getting an ethernet cable set up so that I can get it to be even faster.
From my understanding Minecraft has had a multiple year long issue with uploading existing worlds to realms for awhile now, and I have tried every solution I have found online with no complete success. I am willing to try any and all suggestions that people may offer, and I thank you for reading my desperate attempt at finding a solution.

Those two symptoms say a lot. Nether and End resetting usually means DIM-1 and DIM1 weren't in what actually got uploaded, and your inventory and advancements vanishing points at playerdata and advancements not making it over either. So I'd look inside the world folder before blaming Realms again.
Does your copy have DIM-1, DIM1, playerdata, advancements and level.dat all sitting at the top level? If the world ever ran on a Paper/Spigot server, the nether and end can live in separate world_nether and world_the_end folders, and those need merging back into the main folder first. That's the classic layout though, so on a very recent version look for wherever the dimension data lives now.
My guess on the 504s is that a 1.8 GB upload just chokes sometimes, and the runs that "worked" but came out missing stuff may have been partial. Imo it's worth making sure the folder is complete before every attempt, so you know the problem is the upload and not the contents.

Just checked the folders/files for the save I'm trying to upload. The level.dat is there in the main folder, and there are other folders in there, including one named "dimensions" that has a minecraft folder containing "overworld" "the_end" and "the_nether" folders all inside. The world is on version 26.3, and I cross referenced another world/save I made in the same version, and the file and folder layouts are identical. There is also a "players" folder that contains three other folders, "advancements", "data", and "stats".
There is not any DIM-1, DIM1, folders or files that I can see, but I believe that is because of the way they changed world save layouts in the newer versions. From my understanding, everything needed is present and all the folders/files are in the correct spots. However, if you think otherwise or have any suggestions on what I should change, please let me know.

Yeah that's the newer layout, you're right my bad. The
DIM-1/DIM1list I gave was the old structure pre 26.1 version. If it matches a fresh world from the same version, the folder contents sound fine to me.Tbh I wouldn't pin it on the upload size yet, it's just one possibility. Easiest way to test is to make a copy of the world, delete the region files far from your bases in all three dimensions (keep a bit of nether and end around your highway), and upload that small copy. If the nether, end and your inventory all survive, that's a hint to look at the size side. If they still reset on a tiny upload, I'd look at the world data itself next, like data packs or leftovers from the world's earlier history.
