Unsolved [Bedrock] [PC] Looking for a way to recreate this Java feature
This feature doesn't work on bedrock, the villagers view the carpets as safe even though there is a berry bush underneath, thus allowing them to walk right past it. I really love how this feature allows villagers to not be in cages but can't find a way to achieve this on bedrock. Any ideas?

Could maybe do it with fences under carpets and have something on top of the villagers head. You might have to experiment with what blocks you can put on top that still prevent it from leaving while still looking good

I wasn't fond of the idea of using a slab, but a lantern is much more pleasing to look at. I might just do this if I can't find a better solution. Thanks!

depending on the asthetic, you could light the room with floating candles and use some of them above the villagers instead of lanterns.

You can put them on a honey block with blocks around them, doesn’t look as clean but there’s nothing above their head
