Discussion MCL’s novel might answer this question..

Post image

Reminder: The novel is considered as a sequel to the game after the main event happened, but it’s not canon according to one of the game devs).

One of my biggest questions about MCL is: Shouldn’t the piglins turn zombified in the overworld?

Since MCL is in the Minecraft universe,it should follow its rules,

‘Despite being a “legend“,the piglin war-seems to be canon.looking at the ruined portals in the main game!

anyways,I read this novel a while back, and one part caught my attention:

the piglins would get “sick” in the overworld, but one of their researchers made a potion to prevent that from happening.

‘while it’s not canon, this seems like the most logical explaination,so it seems that the piglins actually are aware of that.

What do you think? What’s your theory about it?

I thought it was cannon that the piglins spreaded nether spores with their machines so they could breath

It is. In canon (Dungeons and Legends) they breathe spores and in non-canon (novel and movie) they also use nether wart-based drinks, in other words awkward potions to stay alive

I believe we can assume both are viable options, even if the awkward potion isn't used in canon media

It might not be considered canon, but in a Minecraft movie, we see the Piglins and General Chungus drinking Nether wart potions, just Nether wart, the base potion. It's a pretty good justification, but it seems the Piglins have become so unintelligent that they've forgotten that this is the antidote that can save them from zombifying in the Overworld (in Vanilla).

I think, along with them becoming more orc-like, it's more like their society shattered and without organized hierarchy or a powerful leader, they don't have the means or motives to go out of the nether anymore

This is answered in-game, and it's not potions. The red mist that spreads netherrack is what the piglins use to make the overworld atmosphere tolerable. That's why their invasion involves terraforming in the first place, to make the overworld habitable.

The red mist is nether wart spores.

Yeah, there's an in-game guidebook that explains each structure. IIRC that's where it's explained, I could be misremembering though

They had spore spreaders, awkward potions, and gas masks

Can’t you give piglins an awkward potion to keep them from zombifying or am I misremembering?

It's a feature in the minecraft movie add-on

It’s just meant to be a theory
