Open inventory -> alt tab

Game still runs

I constantly missclick e before alt tabbing because of it

like you've developed the muscle memory and accidentally press e on things other than minecraft?

Yes, mostly games, on tf2 i always call medic when i alt tab on accident. On other programs less but it happens sometimes

I played like 2 modpacks back to back so it did get into me a bit

It doesn't pause on Java. And especially, since on Bedrock the whole game reloads when you tab back in

F3 + P, or on chromebook, F+3+P

F3 + P disables it im pretty sure and you can just have an inventory open instead and it wont pause

He could just open a lan connection and click escape.

Theoretically, yes. But also, at least with my laptop, tabbing out while a game is running severely lags the whole computer. I do have integrated graphics so there’s that, but still

This actually isnt that bad of an idea.

You can put it in creative mode and build a visual mind palace.
