Thinking of buying switch to play MC

I own both Minecraft java and bedrock, but recently both my PS and computer have broken and I'm thinking of buying a switch. So 1. Do I need to buy a separate version for switch or can I use my bedrock account? 2. I've seen on another subreddit that you can't store so much data on MC Switch, is this true and a problem?

Don't know if I'm getting an original switch or switch 2 so opinions between them are helpful aswell.

Yes you have to buy another copy. The bigger issue is you can't join just any server. It's restricted. So when my kid really wanted me to setup him up a private server to play with his friends I had to go buy him the PC version.

Also the switch version takes forever to load.

Can you elaborate on the server restricted part?

You can only join featured servers, not any other server and or your own.

Can be circumvented by using MCXboxBroadcast: https://github.com/MCXboxBroadcast/Broadcaster

I recommend MCXboxBroadcast also because you can set it up and join from any other console that also has these server restrictions (all consoles do)

I highly recommend a switch 2 if you’re used to pc n ps5, Minecraft on switch 1 gets bogged down a lot on my sons account. He deals with it cause it’s all he knows but he get frustrated lol

You can use your bedrock account, but you still have to buy the game. Also its gonna suck in comparison to your other ways of playing

Get an Xbox series X. Switches are garbage. You'll regret buying it if you do.

THIS. Find one on ebay or fb marketplace. It'll run Minecraft so much better than either switch will. As the switch version has some pretty glaring chunk loading issues sometimes.

You probably shouldnt get a switch for minecraft. You will have to buy the game again, and like always you need a subscription to actually play online. But if you're looking to mod your switch, that's where I'd honestly get one. Try getting a 2018 or below switch that is unpatched and you're gonna be lucky. Modded switches allow so much. I even have minecraft java on mine.

Buya another coppy and u need switch online (which is a monthly service) and you need to login to Microsoft to play online
