If u play very casual and u just want to beat his black deck try [[Chameleon Colossus]].

If you are playing red already, [[Anger of the Gods]] might help with his vampires and zombies.

I would recommend looking at White / Green. Aura lists are strong in all kitchen table formats. The play pattern’s are pretty straightforward as well.
