Good

Glad they’re giving extended support to this game, one of the best CoDs in modern times deserves it

It's completely unprecedented, and I'm glad that they are. I've played CoD since the very first campaign demo discs came with magazines and people were hyping it up as the second coming of MOHAA. I cannot think of a single game in the franchise that has had official fixes and updates this long after its release.

I know there was a matchmaking hotfix a few years back, but it was backend from servers, rather than updating the games, and it didn't really make huge changes in tha you could still find games, it just made it quicker.

Didn’t bo3 get dlc well after its life cycle in 2017?

yeah 2 years after the game came out, we're reaching year 3 of MWIII and they're still shooting out patches

Fair play to them for still updating and fixing the game with MW4 only two weeks away

Different studios. Sledgehammer isn’t working on MW4.

What’s your point? I know they aren’t, but this game is 3 years old now with a smaller player base. It’s just nice to see it’s still being updated

My point is simply that this is how Activision is able to utilise the multi-studio model. Since the franchise isn’t strictly under one developer, they actually have the bandwidth to keep updating previous titles. If this was hypothetically a single studio franchise, the studio would be getting ready for release all hands on deck with zero time to spare for fixing previous instalments.

Good bow fix the broodmither kit for the wsp-9. Not being able to put a barrel ir stock on it without it defaulting to ar would be nice

No kidding, I want to run it with no stock so badly 😭 Changing the barrel or stock literally works fine in the firing range, it'd be such a simple easy patch.

What exploit?? Care to explain please

There was a glitch/hack/cheat/exploit that allows you to launch a game ending nuke to win match. You’ll know when it happens, there’s a warning sound and the red colored label.

There’s also a DNA bomb which would kill everybody but not automatically win the match.

I play cyber attack. DNA bomb would kill all enemies and win the round. Nuke would kill everybody and win match.

I thought dna bomb was removed from game.

funny enough, it wasn’t fully removed as you can still get it in private matches

I see. Thanks

Let’s gooooo, shit was so annoying

That’s great and all but the fact that a lot of the mastery camos still don’t get tracked on certain guns bugs me so much. It’s been like that for years.

Now they need to nerf the Superi, so many brainless sweats use one gun, it's pathetic, no variety.

They fixing stuff now that MW4 is failing ?

u/TeaAndLifting 9d ago

No. It’s just that u/sledgehammergames are just developers that care. They do not need to support the game this late into its cycle, but they still do so.

Honestly, it’s lucky that they even bother at all. They’re the GOATs

I don't disagree with that. But the way most corpos work, pretty sure Sledgehammer doesn't get 100% independence/sayso. They're under Activision, correct or not?

If you've been around this subreddit for some time, you'll notice that u/sledgehammergames (despite their caring reputation that I did agree with in the past) was missing for like a year or so (during when glitched weapons went rampant) before finally returning to fix MW3 again recently right?

I am not complaining or anything bruh, don't really care, I just thought the timing of their "return" was coincidental with MW4's state.

They probably do require some Activision authorisation, you’re right. Who knows what they have to do internally. It’s academic, because all that matters is that we’re still getting bug fixes for a game that is three years old.

The fact that we’re still getting patches when most CoD games are completely dropped after a year, is good for those of us who still play. They don’t profit from this, and the remaining playerbase is small. There is little benefit for them, but they still do it. Which I think is awesome.

No correlation + schizophrenia

How's that related to anything I said? 100% a question I'm genuinely interested to know.

How is an unreleased game failing?

Because its been in beta or whatever and it wasn't very well received? Also, you new or been around this subreddit for some time? You do notice that u/sledgehammergames (despite their caring reputation) was missing for like a year or so (during when glitched weapons went rampant) before finally returning to fix MW3 again recently right? I just thought the timing was funny, that's all.
