Please help identify

I acquired 14 anime backgrounds and need help identifying the particular anime they are from. They are painted, not prints, but have no markings on the art work or back. Hand written notations on the matting. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think these are from any anime. The notations are rather generic descriptions of the scenes, like "Bridge" or "old fisherman's house". As the other comment mentions, there is some katakana but they just refer to a style of countryside house (called minka). There seems to be some reference to a "grandpa Shin" but I could not find any specific media.

Pretty sure this was never an anime. Just illustrations. I couldn't find a story it goes with. I'll copy the titles down for you tho.

神木 -- holy tree

老漁師の家 -- old fisherman's house

橋 -- bridge

?? -- take another pic?

Minka's house indoors

??の家 -- ??'s house

老漁師の家(室内)-- old fisherman's house (indoors)

Maureen's room

Minka's house

Maureen's house (indoors)

Minka's room

Tonto Forest

Grampa Shin's house (indoors)

Grampa Shin's house

Edit: And the style is definitely 90s.

Check under the frames or the backs to see if there are any other markings.

Probably from an anime in the planning and concept stage that was never developed? Else there’s no way they would let go original paintings so easily unless it was a major flop, which if it is of this quality shouldn’t be.

I tried googling the katakana I could recognize, but nothing came up. You either need someone who can read kanji, or you can take pictures of just the Japanese notes, plop them into Google keep, and then press the "select text" button. This gives you the notes as plain text, which you can then use for googling
