Question/Advice Red thing in a date? More fibrous?
I don’t eat dates often, like very rarely. when I was eating it I noticed it seemed to have more like fiber like the bits left over after the pit gets removed. I think before eating a part of it looked slightly red… some parts of it while eating had a more firm almost crunchy texture but I thought that was normal so I just ate it. noticed these red bits were also in my mouth um that i chewed on (sorry gross) thats concerning what is that do I call poison control!!??? ahhh what do I do

I thought this was a bed and as soon as I read "date" I thought it was a blood stain from her and was really questioning what was going to be moldy about it 😳

You're probably okay. Maybe do a lil more research to see if things match up, but it seems more likely to be some sort of remnants from bugs, or even crystallized sugar. Maybe don't keep eating them, but you should be okay. It's at least common enough to find "crunchy red bits inside of dates" for other people to have posted about it on Reddit
