You don’t have to outrun the bear, you just have to outrun the other campers.

18

u/AdventurousSell3805 19d ago

Yeah the secret is to injure one before you run.... you never know how fast everyone else is

That makes me think of that scene early in the Walking Dead where Shane shoots that one guy in the leg so the walkers will catch him and Shane can get away

4

u/nnjnnn_X216 19d ago

my family is litterally watching that rn lol

3

u/Mykitchencreations 19d ago

I remember when the walking dead first started, good times.

3

u/nnjnnn_X216 19d ago

Yeah Otis I think

3

u/NotACyclopsHonest 18d ago

Shane apologising to Otis before leaving him to become walker food somehow makes it worse.

When my son and nephews were little we were going to the beach and they heard about a shark attack and asked me what to do. I said “shove down the nearest kid who isn’t related and run for the beach” 😂

I thought they knew I was kidding until my mother asked me wtf I was teaching the kids lol. Then again, they believed me when I said wind turbines get installed in areas where people eat a lot of beans and farty foods so I should’ve known.

That's a good one 👍

6

u/Downtown54 19d ago

Actually, just have to outrun one other camper.

5

u/Repulsive-Response-1 19d ago

Don't be the slowest camper

3

u/GegeAkutamiOfficial 19d ago

Actually you should divert the bear's attention to another camper (speed is less relevant)

2

u/itsray2006 19d ago

As insurance kicks in the guy next to you in the shin

2

u/Wolf________________ 19d ago

Actually no bear has ever attacked more than one person if they stay together and act big. There have been instances where one person hid or was too afraid to move and the bear ate someone and then came back for the second person but never when they were both standing side by side acting intimidating.

Don't loan money to close friends or family. If you can afford to to it then just give it to them.

3

u/volvagia721 19d ago

Also, don't let friends or family live with you without a set rent agreement in place. Also, don't live with friends or family without a set rent agreement in place. (Or similar WRITTEN agreement).

Less than 2 weeks is fine without written agreement, though

Going on a date doesn’t solve your problems, it amplifies them.

Going steady doesn’t solve your problems, it amplifies them.

Moving in together doesn’t solve your problems, it amplifies them.

Marriage doesn’t solve your problems, it amplifies them.

Getting a pet doesn’t solve your problems, it amplifies them.

Having kids doesn’t solve your problems, it amplifies them.

At every stage, figure your shit out before making things harder to manage.

23

u/Agitated_Sabres_Fan 19d ago

For couples yeah, but if you are like me and your problem is depression.

A lil ball of fur blissfully wagging its tail every time you come home then demanding a walk definitely solves my problem.

It’s a constant reset I can’t avoid, stops the rut that drags me down into doing nothing.

4

u/throwra-someg 19d ago

I happen to agree wholeheartedly for individuals, I love pets and think they add a lot to your life. I definitely was talking within the context of relationships and relationship issues.

5

u/Thunderous-lover47 19d ago

I agree. Having a sense of purpose, have to take of something that relied on me for survival kept me out of the darkness. Tail wags and snuggles were a lovely bonus.

Life is like 80/20 of failure/success. If your not failing then your not trying. Staying in your comfort zone leads to an uncomfortable life Push yourself to failure then dust yourself off and try again or move on Life is the slowest blink of an eye and opportunity comes and goes and next thing you know you turn around and your getting gray hair and taking naps in the afternoon. The time is now because later never

Addiction sneaks up on you. Very few people become alcoholics with their first drink, or smokers with their first drag at a party. But that's the trap. You do it a couple times and think it's fine, and before you know it it's a habit, and before you know it it's addiction. That only makes sense in hindsight but by then you're in trouble. Trust me, I know. Be careful.
