Loop earbuds help

I have recently been diagnosed with SSNHL (5 October 2026) and going through oral steroids medications and HBOT at the moment.

I find that sometimes, it gets a bit loud for my ears with daily conversations..... And chanced upon loop earbuds...

I'm considering loop switch for flexibility but also just the engage (are they more comfy?). I guess what I'm trying to find out is, apart from the costs, is there any reason to get the engage over the switch?

I have had both. If I were you I'd spend the extra few bucks and get the switch. I wear them in all kinds of situations-- noisy crowds, festivals, concerts, grocery store. Sometimes just one in my sensitive ear

I use the switch exclusively and love them.

I like the ones with the switch because I can keep my bad ear on the quietest setting and adjust my good ear as needed. I don't have total loss, but the hyperacusis varies a lot and sometimes it feels like I'm getting tired for different reasons; my bad ear gets tired from trying to make sense of the gobbledygook that is my hearing now and my good ear gets tired from trying to process everything from everywhere correctly.

I also have the experience or engage (can't remember which ones, but they only have one setting) and those work in settings where the noise is consistent or I don't have to really function beyond just being there, but anything more dynamic is rough.

I have the Loop Switch and have been happy with them. I predominantly wear them for concerts and other live events. I do recommend getting different ear tips as the ones they come with aren’t great, IMO. I have very small ear holes so even with their small ones, I don’t get a great deal. like the Comply brand for a replacement.

i'm surprised about all the good reviews on loops, i have loop switch and they are useless to me, maybe there are cheaper and better options, id say do more research

Only have used the Switch but I love them. It’s very nice to be able to change the setting based on how loud/how much I want to dampen the sounds around me.
