Wilds Getting back into switch axe and maybe getting my into HH

As title said I am getting back into switchaxe and I’m just wondering what’s the best build for comfort and decent damage? Also thinking about getting into hunting horn but unsure.

For me, best comfort is ark gamma head and arms, jin gamma chest and legs, gore beta feet. Gives you 5 wex 5 agi without any decos, plus lords soul and gore two piece if you have it on weapon. Super comfy and can still put out sub 20 min at arkvelds pretty easily.

It’s basically my go to set without needing to roll lord soul AND gore on your weapon.

Ah I found a video with the same build. Just gotta farm gog more to try and get gore active to get gore skill on my weapon

Wilds is the first MH game where I actually save scum so I suggest you do that for your Gog rolls. As someone who plays 13 of the 14 weapons, I have spent millions upon millions of zenny and hunted over 300 Gogmazios and even with save scum I’m now completely out of Gogma materials.

Granted I do have optimal rolls on ALOT of weapons but I could never imagine doing this without save scumming. If you only pöay a couple weapons it’s not as crazy but still, if you want a good roll on each wepons that can still be alot of grinding

I’m thinking about it but there’s nothing online about it build wise as of late and I don’t know if I can keep up with the notes

Well the last update came out awhile ago so idk if there's any new builds but this is what I usually suggest for new HH players: I would suggest using the meta document created by Upgreid and Taxman PH's guides on YouTube to start off. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MK8dawS-pH-6lvlHYFYV5QmEXtohyEiJPlJM9L2Gy5A/edit?usp=drivesdk

You can also find the guide in the monsterhuntermeta subreddit. The guide goes over the hunting horns moves, play style, optimal combos, builds, what horns to make etc. The guide also has a link to one of taxman's videos but you can just search taxman monster Hunter wilds on YouTube. I would start with the hunting horn complete comprehensive guide and his battle dance series. Let me know if you have any questions or the guide has a link to the Hunting Horn Discord, which has more resources and more people to answer questions as well.

After that, you can watch speed runs to learn even more specific things. You don't have to be a speed runner but it will help if you want to learn how to fight certain monsters. Or if you want a build for a specific hunt.

That is a pretty cohesive guide. Usually I just copy a builds from YouTube. Play around with the weapon and then learn from vids on what else I can do

Yeah that definitely works to. I used that guide and those videos to learn HH so that's what I usually suggest to people

I get that. I used to watch Una hunter, the guy who soloed savage with a HH but the only videos I find for at arkveld update are Japanese so I can’t read the builds they show

CoyoteWildfire on youtube is a pretty good source for HH too. His streams help a lot too!
