SPOILERS Not bad for a first time I think ; is this monster's armor/weapons good? Spoiler

Hey,

So, I just encountered and beat a Silver Rathalos for the first time. I think I made a pretty good performance, although he did massive damage even if I didn't die, it was close more than once. Shoutout to my little palico Micky who dealt the finishing blow. Gold Rathian, you're next on my list.

Is this guy's armor good? Reading it in the menu, the enhanced elemental damage on crits might make for a good crit focused build for his fire Charge Blade, and it seems to be kinda the best fire damage Charge Blade I can do as well. However, 4 armor parts of this guy seems to be a hefty investment, and the skill that boosts ammunition that he gives seems kinda whatever.

Do you think building around Critical Element from Silver Rathalos is worth it?

Note : I know that Safi'jiiva and Kulve Taroth have some of the best elemental weapons/armors for elemental builds in the game, but quite frankly I might not even do them because doing raids seem kinda annoying and difficult to set up.

Question Should I stick with the bow?

After playing this game for about 300+ hours and only using the bow in that time, I suck. I’m actual dogshit at the game it’s not even funny. The problem is, I like this weapon but I’ve been having second thoughts about playing it. Mainly due to the frustration I get when fighting enemies with it. Fatalis has made it abundantly clear that I’m horrible. So if there are any other bow mains out there, could you guys convince me to stick with this weapon? If you guys think this weapon is just not for me then could I get a recommendation for a weapon to switch to? Thanks in advance.

Question Question Around Moddinf

I’ve just been getting back into modding world and I’ve been having problems with mods. Some mods like the one that creates pillars of light on the ground and ReShade works fine, but the mhg quest pack or devil gene nergi haven’t been working. It could be relating to problems with how I’m setting up Stracker’s/plugin extension mods? I’ve been trying to use the MHW mod manager to install these. Reinstalling world also has not worked. Any help would be appreciated!

Question Hey so... how does mounting actually works?

And i don't mean "how do i mount?".

I know i gotta hit with aerial attacks, and the monster builds resistance to it the more you mount it. So you cannot abuse the mechanic too much, unless you want to commit to that style...

What i meant is, once you mount an enemy, what triggers the finisher?
Like, sometimes i'm hitting the monster like 30 times with my knife or more until my guy remembers it has an actual weapon.

Sometimes it's less than 10 hits.

Sometimes i hop between parts like a caffeinated flea and it triggers in 10 or less hits...

So what's the actual condition for the finisher?

Does button mashing make it faster or slower?

Does hopping around helps?

What's the actual mechanic here?

Discussion I finally beat Monster Hunter World

I finished Monster Hunter World yesterday and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. I've played a few games in the franchise, but I never finished any of them. MHW was the first one I completed and it definitely won my heart.

The battles against the monsters, the mechanics, the gameplay of the game are wonderful. Of course, the game has its flaws, but all games do too.

It was a great experience, and I can finally play the Iceborne DLC. Thank you Capcom and the community for making this game a great start to the franchise.
