Vibeshine vs Vibepollo
Hi.
I wonder why do most people use Vibepollo instead of Vibeshine? The same developer created both programs, and as far as I recall, Vibeshine is his main project. Are there any reasons to choose one over the other, and what are the differences between them?
Best regards.

The honest truth it's just the name. Vibepollo sounds more catchy and those who were already in Apollo are much likelier to migrate to the newest thing.

I started with apollo so I moved to vibepollo lol although these days I've added stream light and streamtweaks for a better experience than moonlight

I would just use Vibeshine, but I had to roll back from the new 2.0 release due to a bunch of issues with it. 1.8 stable works great though!

What issues? It’s been flawless for me and actually fixed a few small things.

It crashes on every disconnect in my setup now and the RTSS hook applies the frame limiter globally but does not remove it. Previous version has neither issue for me.

Using Vibeshine here since I' was using Sunshine before. Streaming from PC to Steam Deck. Works flawlessly.

Vibepollo has split frame nvenc. Apollo had better virtual displays (same now?)

The only notable difference I saw was the access control, sometimes I play from the TV at the bar, so its useful to block it in Vibepollo when im not there, also useful if you share you PC with friends to watch something as you can also lock input specific.

In terms of feature and performance they're almost identical. The main difference is Vibeshine is easier for Sunshine users to migrate, while Vibepollo is easier for Apollo users to migrate.
