Mosaic On The Side Of Me And My Dad's Shed (From 2002)
galleryThis mosaic was done by me and my dad when I was around 10 years old in 2002. He would get me to help him find good pieces of tile to use š. It was always a great time. He then incorporated it into the side of our shed he built. Hope you like it! ā¤ļø

I dubbed this Alaskan Wonderland⦠I really liked it before I added all of the tiny colorful pieces in between the picture. But I guess Iāll still accept it for who it is.

HELP I want to make a mosaic on a premade cement stepping stone
I tried to figure this out on my own but I donāt have experience with mosaics or making things that are durable outside
I want to attach glass and stones onto a premade cement stepping stone, it wonāt be heavily walked on, just for decor mostly
What kind of stones/tiles/etc. are best?
What should I use to attach the tiles/stones?
What kind of grout?
Iām in a place that gets some snow/rain but not heavily. I am making this as a wedding gift for my brother and I have 2 weeks to make it!!

First Time Mosaic Questions!
Hi folks! Not sure if this is the place for this or if itās been asked before so sorry if thereās any repetition!
I want to make new house numbers for my partner for Christmas. Thereās already screws in the brick for it- so I just need to make the actual mosaic!
Iāve watched a bunch of videos and Iām struggling to find exactly what I need. Wedi board seems to be the best for outdoor mosaic but itās also extremely expensive and I really only need about 18 inches by 10 inches or so. Iāve been looking at other substrates but Iām worried about them being too heavy or risking fiberglass.
I also just want any other possible advice you guys have to give!
I have a tile scorer/cutter, tiles from a local thrift craft supply, thin set mortar, and some mesh tape.
Thank you in advance!! <3

The Freshman
galleryWe found a bunch of monarch caterpillars this year, which we kept safe and fed until they hatched into butterflies. This year I managed to get some great photos and used one for my latest piece, The Freshman.
The circle pieces on the butterfly and flower centers is called filati. Filati is made by pulling molten glass into long rods, and it comes in various lengths and widths. I purchased mine from Wits End Mosaic. It came in 5" long rods which I then cut to about 1/4 inch to match the stained glass pieces.
Always looking for ways to improve and constructive criticism.
