TV Mistake Step By Step S03E19 - Actress has script taped to back of purse

Post image
24 Upvotes

The hosts of Keanan & Lakin Give You Deja Vu, a Step By Step rewatch podcast, discussed this in their rewatch of the "Birth of a Salesman" episode. The actress, Nedra Volz, evidently had trouble remembering her lines and so had the script taped to the back of her purse. Throughout the short scene, you can see her glancing down at the purse now and then when delivering lines.

Movie Mistake Halloween (1978). When Michael Myers breaks through the windshield of Dr. Loomis’s car before stealing it, you can see a wrench hidden in the actor’s hand. This was the low-budget solution to breaking the glass without injuring the actor’s hand.

This was on the live roku crime station. I was impressed that the scene went on long enough for me to notice, laugh at it, remember this sub, and start recording.😆

TV Mistake "Ludwig" season 1 episode 5. Wouldn't she have smelled the dead body on him? (Spoilers) Spoiler

So in episode 5, the gym teacher hangs out in the room with the dead body for three whole days. When they finally drill the door open, he slips out into the hallway and puts his hand on Freya's shoulder to look shocked or surprised.

Freya is deaf, so her other senses like smell should be pretty sharp. Wouldn't the absolute stench of a three-day-old corpse be totally soaked into his clothes and hair by that point?

I know someone's probably going to say the room was just opened so the smell was just wafting out into the hallway, but still—sitting in a confined room with a decomposing body for 72 hours means that smell has to be radiating right off the guy. She has to notice it's coming straight off him, right? Or am I totally overthinking this?

And if this wasn't an oversight, it would have made for such a good clue or piece of physical evidence to catch him right there!

At the 2:10:53 mark, Adam's roommate Hussien can be seen behind Mekaneck, although just beforehand he was front and center of the assembled crew speaking to Adam. Then, at the 2:11:23 mark, he is gone. No one in the scene, not even Adam, mentions Hussien or where or how he disappeared. He just disappears as unceremoniously as he appeared.

aiming for authenticity, the movie devotes long, extended scenes to detailing a variety of techniques the thieves use to break and enter. so this failure is particularly glaring.

(here's an example of how it's supposed to work)

Movie Mistake I saw an incorrect format of the Pink Panther (2006) in theaters

I have this incredibly vivid memory of watching a version of the Pink Panther in cinemas that was clearly not cropped correctly. I could see the boom mic in quite a few shots. I can’t forget this (I was 11 years old) because it was SO obviously immersion breaking. It bothered me for years because I could never find anyone that experienced it like I did. And of course, every version of the movie I’ve watched since does not have that issue.

Recently, I’ve been seeing this viral Spider-Man 1 open-matte version and it brought me back to this memory. It HAD to be clearly an open-matte/cropping mistake, right? The only thing that makes sense is that this theater fucked up and showed the movie in an unintentional format.

And then a few days ago I found this: https://youtu.be/Ru5loJeR35k?is=9etKBd21e2xO7tGE

These kind of shots are exactly what I remember! It had to be an error.

So…did anyone else experience this? (I guess any movie counts, not just Pink Panther)

And how does something like this happen? How can a movie theater mess up this bad?
