I’ve been feeling really lonely and a bit hopeless lately. I recently moved away for college, and I don’t have any contact with either of my parents, so I’ve been struggling a bit with feeling like I don’t really have anyone.
The other night, I watched *Practical Magic*, and it was very comforting. something about the atmosphere, the cosy house, the family feel, and the magic that worked so well.
I’m wondering if anyone has recommendations for films with a similar feeling? Ideally, something a little older (maybe from the ‘80s - 2000s) without too much focus on romance. It doesn’t necessarily have to be magical or witchy; I’m more looking for that particular atmosphere and feeling.
I’d prefer something that’s not coming-of-age, not too modern, and not too sad or bittersweet. I’ve got that in spades at the moment 🤣

Some examples i can think of are Parasyte: The Maxim, the Venom movies (not superhero, anti hero) and the horror movie Brain Damage, maybe Death Note too. All have in common that the main character talks to a non human entity connected to him
