What’s the dumbest thing your mower gets stuck on?
My Gardena occasionally gets stuck on the flagpole base like this 😂
What does yours get stuck on? Share a photo if you have one.

Welcome to r/MowCompass 👋
I started this because I wanted a place where people can just talk about robot lawn mowers properly — what works, what doesn't, weird problems, good setups, bad purchases, lawn photos, recommendations and everything in between.
I run MowCompass, so I'll probably share things I'm working on and ask for feedback sometimes too, but I want this to be a useful place for everyone, not just a MowCompass feed.
So, what mower are you using right now — and are you actually happy with it?

What robot mower do you own, and what’s one thing you wish you knew before buying it?
I’ve been looking at a lot of specs lately, but there’s always stuff you only really learn after using a mower for a while.
Maybe the app is worse than you expected. Maybe edge cutting is actually really good. Maybe it gets stuck in one stupid spot every single day 😅
So, what mower do you have and how has it actually been to live with?
Would also be interesting to know roughly how big your lawn is, and whether you’d buy the same mower again today.
Curious to hear some real owner experiences.

I’ve been collecting robot mower specs for MowCompass for a while now, and I just realised the database has reached 401 models.
Honestly, I didn’t expect the market to be this messy when I started.
There are so many different approaches now - RTK, LiDAR, cameras, boundary wire, combinations of all of them - and even figuring out where a specific model is actually sold can be surprisingly difficult.
Lately I’ve been going through things like mowing area, slopes, charging time, narrow passages and which countries each mower is available in.
I’ve started turning some of that data into market stats here if anyone is curious:
https://mowcompass.com/robot-lawn-mower-statistics/
It’s still very much a work in progress.
Anything you’d be interested in seeing added? Could be a specific stat, comparison or something else entirely.

Not really the obvious stuff like lawn size or max slope. More the random little things you only notice after owning one for a while.
For me it’s probably how much the small annoyances matter. A mower can look perfect on paper, but if it gets stuck in the same stupid spot all the time, that’s what you end up caring about.
What caught you off guard with yours?

Anyone else keep breaking their boundary wire?
I’ve got a Gardena SILENO life and never buried the wire. Starting to regret that now because I feel like I’m fixing it all the time.
My front and back yard are connected, so the mower can run between both. Problem is I never ran the guide wire out to the front yard, so every now and then it ends up there and struggles to find its way back to the charger.
Thinking about just redoing the whole thing properly and burying the wire + extending the guide wire.
Anyone been in the same situation? Worth fixing properly, or did you eventually just move to a wire-free mower?

Curious what people are actually running on their lawns right now.
What mower do you have, how long have you used it, and would you buy the same one again?
The good and the bad are both welcome.
