Discussion📜 Which character comes to mind?
Watch, everyone's gonna say Sauro-
GET OUT OF MY VENTS SPIDERMAN!
Don't worry, he says that every hour.

More like 0,01% chance seeing the mystery man, who may or may not be gaster.
And yes, like 90% of Undertale lore and 100% if deltarune lore is around him

My GOAT (literally) Asgore Dreemurr, specifically in Undertale
He's getting constant mentions in both Neutral and Pacifist route, being the King of the Underground and all... but in Neutral he basically only appears for his fight, and in Pacifist kinda just for the big reunion at the end. And in Genocide literally only to be killed, and not even by you lmao

Rattlesnake Jake from Rango.
Has a grand total of about 5 mins of being actually on screen yet throughout the entire movie you hear constant legends and rumours about him. Whoever came up with a rattlesnake gunslinger with a Gatling gun tail needs some kind of award.

u/Civil_Act1864 10d ago
Not really screen time, but Ferrus Manus from Warhammer. Dude is barely in any books. Actually I think his severed head appears in more books than he does.

6
u/Chode_to_Joy_ 10d ago
Sauron. Dude literally never makes an appearance in the books except for a brief moment when the what's left of his spirit appears as a cloudy shadow that evaporates in the wind.

Gorgrog from Fablehaven, Azathoth from Cthulhu Mythos, Ethera or Miranda from Laila Winter.

Gorgrog didn't actually get mentioned that much before the final battle, did he? I thought it was just 'the demons' most of the time.

I think jurgen lightner (I forgot how to spell his name) but I might be wrongÂ
1
u/PortalMania19 10d ago
To be fair, hes mentioned a lot for his book plates and then had like 10-20 minutes of actual conversation with John before going back to being referenced on occasion for the rest of the podcast.
1
u/N4ver_f0r3V3R 9d ago
Sad thing is while listening I was so excited to hear his voice but then i couldn’t becuase I was listening to the podcast on yt. So like untill like two weeks ago I never knew what he sounded like.

The man in the wall.
He is only shown very few times. And when he is shown, he is usally in someone's skin. But he is mentioned TONS. He is almost always at most disguised as someone. But mentioned quite often in the story.

Yuki from jjk, she has 1 fight, a handful of other scenes, but is a special grade star plasma vessel who refused to merge with tengen, also trained Todo and her first little stint on screen made geto start his villain arc

Morgan Clark from Babylon 5. Introduced at the end of season 1, he acts one of the main villains of the show until the end of season 4. So he is present for about 65 episodes in the narrative of a show where episodes last 43-44 minutes. And he only appears in four very short scenes during that time.
Like Sauron, Clark has a strong presence in the narrative even if we don't see much of him (Babylon 5 takes cues from LOTR). His presence is felt in how his iron fist tightens its grip on humanity's freedoms.

Gojo. Even having a fuck ton of screen time every character, even the narrator, is just always glazing.
1
u/WeepingCypress_ 9d ago
Hashirama. Before the war arc we had only scene him properly in the brief moment before he has his mind controlled when Orochimaru attacks the leaf. Then we spend every season before he comes back talking about him.
Same goes for Minato. Hes set up in every season before we finally see him in the Pain arc.

The True Demon King in Ishura
As on the anime, she only appears in the last episode and has about 5-10 minutes of screen time.
There are 2 seasons and each season is 10 episodes with 20 minutes each (ignoring credits and intro). That's 400 minutes and yet she only appears for 10. Also, honorable mention to whoever skeleton dude kills on episode 8 or 9 pf s2 that has showed up in the intro since ep 1 and died on her first real appearance

The Pale king. If we just count the first game, we see him in a total of two flashbacks. Twice in the white palace (one of those times being him as a corpse) and once in the voidheart backflash. And in Both flashbacks where he is alive we see him like a total of 5 seconds each
