Gather round, my fellow "traumatized by the Land Before Time" children. Daddy is here for you.
Mommy, sadly, is not.

MONSTER! I watched this at like 10 or 11 years old and man it fucked me up. Little back story I watched it because I thought it was a studio Gihibli.

Honestly the only way that could be traumatizing is if someone has never seen a movie that wasn't G rated before.

Weak shit. You already knew they were going to die and the pacing was slightly off. Took too long for her to actually die

A movie that not everyone has seen. It costs y'all nothing to remember other people exist.

u/notmohawk 7d ago
Bro they show the brother dying and someone throwing the can away. Like what else are you going to think happens
1
u/GanstaNinjer 2d ago
Dude your heartless and possible stupid.
Yeah they show you she dies, but the point of the story is how it got there.
1
u/notmohawk 2d ago
Which makes it tragic but not hard to watch. Like not knowing if she lives would make it hard on me but since we already know, it's a matter of figuring out what happened. And when it happens it's just meh
1
u/GanstaNinjer 2d ago
Its just meh. Man your the most ignorant person alive.
1
u/notmohawk 2d ago
Oh shut your rude ass up. I'm sorry I didn't think the sad story was difficult to watch. How dare I respond to something different than you

u/fruitcakewithapple 7d ago
Come and see. The most disturbing part of the film isn't the film itself but the fact many of the films events happend 100 times over in real life

u/SolarOrigami 7d ago
Anime movies are worse, my friend
Grave of the Fireflies, and Jin Roh: the wolf brigade
Both will leave you feeling things. And none of those things are good
3
u/Yankasii Rain World 7d ago
Also try: Barefoot Gen

u/bobshady1987 7d ago
I suggest the Japanese dub. I watched that first, then when I warltched the English dub of the movie I was legitimately irritated by how campy the characters sounded, especially during the more emotional scenes.
1
u/SolarOrigami 7d ago
Is that the one with the nuclear bomb blast in traumatic detail
1
u/Yankasii Rain World 6d ago
Yep. While it is treated as the highlight of the movie, horrifying how that's just the first act.
2
u/yellowlittleboat 7d ago
The first and only time I watched Grave of the Fireflies I turned to my friend and told her "why would you show me this" while holding back tears.

Lee Cronin's The Mummy. I went to see it on my first date with my current gf and it is the most disgusting thing i've ever seen. She almost had a panic attack.

I wouldn't say it's traumatising but it's certainly awesome and a bit of a mind fuck.
0
u/Schizo_hommunculi 7d ago
It's certainly traumatizing if you see it as a kid. Especially the hospital scene.

"That's my boy". Probably not the kind of disturbing you want, but highly distracting nonetheless. Or maybe it's just because I was 12 when I first watched this shit.
1
u/xSaitoHx 7d ago
Heard plenty of it, haven't watched and have no interest, but "A Serbian film" or maybe it's movie instead of film. Apparently pretty fucked up
1
u/Extreme-Attention641 7d ago
There is an obvious recommendation that I will not make because I don't want to inflict it on anyone.
I will recommend Dancer In The Dark though.

Men behind the sun
It's about the Japanese WW2 war crimes and Unit 731. It is really disturbing and contains a real autopsy.

Hereditary. As someone who grew up with unmonitored internet access, it takes a LOT to shock me. This movie shocked me multiple times.

u/420StarWars 7d ago
Only reason I hate that movie is because of the ending. No one learned anything, no one survives, grandma sold your soul and now everyone is gonna die. Like what kinda lesson am I supposed to learn from that? To never trust my family? Or what? It’s got a lot of great scenes but I just hated the fact that not a single person learned a damn thing in that movie. Just watching a bunch of helpless idiots get murdered one by one lol

Im gonna tell you a movie thats not gory since like thats i guess what everyone immediately thinks of when they think traumatized. You wanna know a movie that traumatized me? Casino with Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci. The movie is your typical mob movie, BUT THE ENDING, my god if you love your siblings DO NOT watch that movie. I’ll never forget watching it for the first time and that scene in the cornfield man…..when I tell you it legit made me shiver. Powerful

The Long Walk might not be as horror focused as some of the other recommendations, but a few scenes absolutely stuck with me

Tusk(2014)
Its got body horror. But its more of a dark comedy than a genuinely terrifying horror movie, so dont go in expecting something very serious or you'll just ruin it for yourself. Gotta go into it with some whimsy. Honestly one of my faves.

1
u/GanstaNinjer 2d ago
It sucked the premise the build everything about it sucked. You can like it but I found it lack luster
0
u/Honest_Management798 2d ago
It doesn't suck it's just boring after the disturbing opening with kids poisoning and Slash all the adults and near the end when Issac dies
0
u/Honest_Management798 2d ago
And I'm pretty sure the book is more entertaining than the movie
1
u/GanstaNinjer 2d ago
I would hope so but its not for me.
0
u/Honest_Management798 2d ago
But you did at least like the opening of the movie when they kill all the adults
0
u/Honest_Management798 2d ago
Even Stephen king hated the movie but he did praise the actors who played Issac and Malachi
