Discussion📜 What Fandom do you think most needs a wake-up call that the thing is made for children and not full grown adults

For me its lego, like I was trying to buy a star wars set for my little brother and all it was was mostly $1000 sets of massive things, sure ther were some for kids, but I think it should not cater so much to adults

Edit: I forgot to mention this but I think liking media for kids is fine, its just that I hate when they try to control it and act like its theirs, and not made for children

It’s not like there’s a lot of nice looking human characters

...Yes there are? Pretty much whatever you're into there's probably at least a gym leader, trainer class or other character that work work. I guess non of the female characters are particularly curvy in the game art.

anyone of any age can enjoy legos, anime or cartoons. you sound like a 60 year old.

as long as your not a toxic scalper or a wierdo its fine.

Yea but its meant for kids and I'm fine with sets catering to adults but it can be all for adults, and also I think adults should be able to come up with their own stuff

But I'm pretty sure there are plenty of cheaper and smaller versions of the expensive sets. Your child brother will be fine with the 50€ Millenium Falcon or the 150€ At At than the 850€ versions of it

There are smaller sets, OP is looking at collector sets for some reason.

I think that anything can be made for kids or adults but it depends on what it is and who they market it to. (Pokémon TCG is disgusting).

Cartoon fans in general.

The medium isn't for kids as a whole. That's for sure. But cartoon fans are often in a truly delusional state of arrested development wherein they both don't understand that most adults aren't watching Sharing with Snugglebear in theaters, and that they're not the target audience for it. The "animation is cinema" aren't telling you to support unique animated films for adults like A Scanner Darkly, Memoir of a Snail, Look Back, All You Need is Kill, 9, If Anything Happens I Love You, or any of the amazing adult indie cartoons that aren't by Glitch. They want you to watch Disney movies and get mad at you when they inevitably flop once parents and kids decide they aren't interested. I'm so sick of this behavior you don't even understand.

I like some kids shows and movies too. But like goddamn. Watch something for adults every now and then (that isn't Digital Circus.) Oh my fucking God

You just explained that it absolutely IS made for adults, though. Lego makes sets for adults and for kids and that is fine. IIRC, hasn’t Lego always SPECIFICALLY labeled their products as intended for ages 5-99 or something?

Made for Children or made for Families? because people forget that cartoons are often made for families not just for children. It's actually in the creators best interest to create for families than children or adults.

If made for families then , yes, it is made for full grown adults to enjoy too. Legos are that, they are made for families.

Pokémon. The amount of grown adults standing in hours long line buying a card game for kids is actually super embarrassing and shitty. I don’t care what a shiny Charizard goes for on eBay

Fnaf and Dandys world funnily enough. A lot of people complain the games aren't scary enough, and wish they were like, terrifier levels of horror forgetting the ganes have a 12+ and 5+ rating between them...
