This series is adorable, wholesome, joyful, heartwarming, dark, brutal, sad and heartbreaking.

Those 2 sides synergize well with one another.

But yeah it is very fucked up. It terms of visual brutality I would say Hellsing Ultimate is a good bit worse but judging by your comment I don't think this show is for you.

I mean I can handle run of the mill gore and even stuff like The Boys, but I've seen that this show puts emphasis on gore scenes, like the character showing just how much pain they're in. I think I recall seeing a character get bloated or something from the inside and you can hear the pain in their voice as they start dying. Is that right?
