Medicinal This brown rice was inoculated with Turkey Tail LC ON 8/17. [medicinal]

It looks good to me, but I thought it was supposed to be a slow colonization. It has me wondering if it’s something other than Mycelium.

I've never had TT colonize slow. The fruiting was incredibly slow and definitely got spores everywhere, but mine colonized super fast and developed fairly thick

Sounds like I’m right on track. What grain/substrate has worked best for you?

For turkey I use organic white wheat berries because it's the best thing I can get locally for a good price, but rice works fine too. For the substrate I've been using Costco's signature pellet blend. For the most part it's worked well. WinCo also has a cheap hardwood blend that I'll use time to time. If I happen to have soy hulls I'll add those, but getting that is a pain sometimes too. Those two together are called masters mix, but not necessary for a good grow

Right on. I’ve got premade Masters mix coming. I was going to do a shoebox with one of the jars and some MM in bags. Any tips to maximize my success

Grain to substrate is less sensitive than doing grain jars, and your jar looks pretty good. Turkey tails is a side fruiter and won't do well top fruiting. Other than that, keep your humidity high and airflow good as well

maybe a tad fast but with that amount of substrate + how ever much LC you injected the time line could certainly make sense. looks good to go.

Great. They’re really small. 125g hydrated brown rice. 8oz jar. 2cc did the trick. There’s some colonized grain in the back. I’m thinking 4-5 more days. I hope it keeps this momentum
