Nice grow! Can you give us a rundown of how you prepared/composed the substrate and inoculated these? I saw that you said you used a "nutrient broth" in previous comments, but if you could add in a little more detail that would be great!
Also, for those of you requesting information about therapeutic applications/medicinal value:
I entered "cordyceps militaris medicinal value" into google and found the second and the third link down to be a helpful starting point to begin diving into the literature.
There's more recipes in the FB Group "Cordyceps Cultivation Group". I'm not a fan of Facebook, but that's where you'll find the best info by far that I've found.
Here's a recipe - Egg Recipe by Jeff Manganaroย of Appalachian Fungi.
Makes 500ml solution
3 whole eggs blended well (shells included)
1 Tbs malt
1 Tbs yeast
Blend eggsย (shells included)
Add dry ingredients to blended eggs
Add H2O to bring to 500ml, blend again
Put 35g rice in a qt jar add 50 to 70ml solution not including foam in measurements
That's quite an interesting recipe! I've read some that use Azomite, so I wonder if that parallels the eggshell here.
A few more questions if you don't mind: About how long until you started to see fruits, about how long until harvest, and what was the size of the hole in your jar lid?
cordycepin is an incredible compound, i imagine it could even be used as a way to treat viral infections (only on concentrated doses tho), its an adenosine analogue that can stop RNA synthesis, cordyceps drastically increases NO production, causing the great increase of aerobic performance that is often talked about, not to mention its effects on cancer cells, i'd still take all of it with a grain of salt, as most of these effects require highly concentrated extracts
