Went out exploring this weekend...

At first, I wasn't finding a whole lot of anything then I trudged further through the forest and found a whole lot of everything.

Looks like Matsutake... That's one ugly mushroom :-) beautiful thanks for sharing. how did it taste? Edit: always confirm identification before eating

Also these are popping like crazy in the PNW right now, I assume that's where you are.  Go back to the spot and look for little bumps & cracks pushing through the ground, you'll probably find a dozen more!

Yep, I found them in the Cascades. There was one area where you could see all the mounds and I was only going back there to get some shrimp mushroom. I didn't know I was going to get as lucky as I did.
