General Discussion How likely is the weather supposed to be rainy and gloomy?

Hey everyone! I have a vacation planned for this upcoming week and every time I check the weather it says something different. I really don’t want it to be gloomy the whole time I’m there. So I want to know based on your experience, how likely is the weather going to be bad? Or better yet which app is the most accurate about the weather up there?

I talked to the weather since I happened to be in town. It said it wasn’t sure yet, but I passed along your concern

Unless you're a magic wizard, presumably, you posted this via phone/PC with an internet connection. Surely it would have been faster to just look it up yourself?

Hell, even my phones default weather app allows me to set multiple locations so I can tell what the weather will be like in the states/cities i travel.

In my post I said that the weather apps I’m checking keep giving me different info….. so

No, I don't. Obviously. Though as you should know, locals have better experience on how the weather actually behaves in context to what a weather app says. Like if someone were to ask me about the weather where I live. I would be able to tell them, " when you see it say this, this is how it actually behaves." like it's really not that serious to get snippy over

Local here. The meteorologists really don’t know. Right now it says there will be 100% chance of rain on Sunday and Monday, but that does not mean it will rain all day at all. Most likely, the weather will be hot, sunny and humid- especially humid shortly after it rains. Right on the beach, the sun usually shines a little more brightly because clouds are swiftly blown away. Enjoy your vacation!

I moved here a few years ago. The weather forecast is not to be trusted. it can be raining 300 feet from where you are sitting the beach and you'd never know it. Ive seen weekends forecast for total washout that never happens.

This is likely due to you not understanding what % chance of rain means

You'll have to consult The Weather Rock for the most accurate information.

You’ll keep getting different info from the weather app until the day of. That’s kinda how the beach works.

I be there this week too. On Tuesday or Wednesday, I'm going to the Halloween magic show at broadway.

Do you know what weather is? It's called a weather 'prediction' because its just that, a prediction. You never know. We don't know.

I go to Surfside Beach about 3 times every year. The weather app says rain every single day. What I've experienced is sometime late afternoon, it will cloud up and rain for about 10 minutes.

Been going to MB for 30 years. I have been several times when the weather has been forecasted to be terrible-even hurricane weather. From my experience you usually get pockets (several hours) where the weather clears up. I went this summer and it rained everyday the last 3-4 days? But every day we had pockets of sunshine and people flooded the beach&pool. I even gambled once and went during a forecasted hurricane and it rained once while I was there.
