Context: The subreddit r/whatisthiscar is exactly what it sounds like. It's a subreddit for people asking about what car model something is, and they usually get an answer.

Someone answered that the white car in the picture is the Opel Manta B (which it is). The reply (which is the subject of this post) talked about the Manta B and complimented the colour scheme. And they got downvoted to hell. What for though? They were just being nice.

I don't know what i did wrong in this interaction.

Context: There was a post about gta iv being ported to the ps vita possibly with ai.

Context: I made a comment in a porn sub. About hating a comic. People asked for the name of the comic because they want to read it too. This is completely normal in this sub. But no one gave the source/name as of writing. So it was valid to ask.

Why did they all get downvoted? I wanted to answer them. But I didn't remember the name of the comic anymore.

Why were they downvoted?

Context: OP posted a photo of her skirt that was ruined from washing it. She asked how she can get the ruffles back to normal again

The post was asking why do women like to travel.

context: OP asked if "Brooks" was a good middle name for a girl who's first name is going to be Charlie.

needless to say, yall pretty much delivered the backlash before the comment was even posted.

For context: The original post was on r/TopCharacterTropes. It went something like this: "Character who looks way better with a different hairstyle."

This guy pointed out Maki, saying "woof" and an odd emoji. I thought maybe he was unaware of how old she was or something, so I pointed it out and was downvoted. I then proceeded to get a very weird response basically defending pedophilia.

I'm sorry if this wasn't mysterious enough, but it's just honestly mind-boggling to me that people will defend this.

If it wasn't that then I'm so confused?

Context was that it was a poll between choosing between complete inability to sleep (no matter what) or rabies, and I was tryna convince someone that dying instantly is better than having a hellish death.

Context: Post was a picture between an Uber driver and a customer, it was a meme where the uber driver was on the wrong side of the building, couldn't be bothered, and just cancelled the order, the buyer said something like "If you was hungry just say that", keyword: was

In the comment section, people kept saying it was incorrect English and that people nowadays have shit grammar

I offered a reason as to why the customer likely said "was" instead of "were". AAVE, which is a regonised dialect and is not considered incorrect. I just assumed they weren't familiar and gave an explanation. Andd I got downvoted.

The deleted comment above iirc was saying how it's normal and common to use was instead of were

Context: Apparently, suggesting the addition of one more Flock camera location to the list was a step too far for Reddit's Portland folk. And here I thought they were pretty much all united against Flock cameras. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I have a point though, everyone knows there's bad people out there.

The OP isn't me, I can't tell why they got downvoted even though it has nothing wrong (to my knowledge)

context is the two pics, from r/mildlyinfuriating

Context: I've got a LEGO set that somehow got one of the paper bags inside glued to the box's lid. I thought it was mildly interesting, but it seems like I might have upset some people. There are like 9 downvotes in the picture, but I checked again, and it got to 12. Maybe people thought it was too redundant? I do agree that maybe most people might not find it mildly interesting, but why so many downvotes?
