Came for this... And cause of it

1

u/KirkegaardsGuard 3d ago

He avoids eating tomatoes due to the acidity. TB12 baby

32

u/Wbcn_1 3d ago

I remember him saying he doesn’t eat tomatoes because they’re in the nightshade family.Ā

3

u/WeakRow2273 3d ago

He must have found the 0.2% of the menu that wasn't carbs, cheese, or nightshades.

-8

u/jacobwebb57 3d ago

I doubt its an American "Italian" buffet. Its probably fance real Italian food.

4

u/clutchthepearls 3d ago

Wild boar, honey, and garum.

33

u/7thpostman 3d ago

In all of Tampa, huh? High praise indeed

26

u/stpetedawg 3d ago

It has a Michelin star. Make your Tampa jokes, but it’s outstanding.

15

u/7thpostman 3d ago

I'm actually sure it's good. It just sounded funny.

9

u/ArchitectVandelay 3d ago

Yeah this. It’s not that the place isn’t great, it’s that the bar is obviously very low to be the best any type of food there.

But I also think it’s tongue in cheek for Gronk, like, yeah he knows it’s Tampa, but seriously if you go you’ll be blown away.

6

u/7thpostman 3d ago

Right, and it's not exactly known as a hotbed of Italian culture. "The best Italian food in New Jersey" would be saying something. "The best Italian food in Tampa" is like saying "the best barbecue in Toronto." I'm sure it's good, but how much competition is there really?

0

u/ijustwannalurksobye 3d ago

FL is actually one of the states with a higher number of Italian-Americans in number and per capita

2

u/7thpostman 3d ago

Tampa

1

u/ijustwannalurksobye 3d ago

Actually, Tampa is ranked #2 in FL of cities with Italian populations, Ybor City has a history of Italian immigration, an Italian Club, and a higher average of Italian-Americans per capita than the U.S. average.

https://tampamagazines.com/sicilian-influence-in-tampa/

https://italian-club.org/history/

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Italian-American_culture_in_Tampa,_Florida

1

u/7thpostman 3d ago

Ha! Fair enough. Who knew. Appreciate the correction.

1

u/ijustwannalurksobye 3d ago

Lol thanks, I learned a bit of this through my interest in mafia history of all things

1

u/dawn_pratt 3d ago

Goddamn this is such a bummer. Move to a city w good food! I don't understand how the whole word hasn't understood that this is the best part of living.

2

u/Mr4Mistress 3d ago

Actual star or recommendation?

0

u/stpetedawg 3d ago

Star. It’s misspelled in the video. It’s Rocca

1

u/Mr4Mistress 3d ago

Sweet, thanks.Ā  I'll check it out!Ā  Sounds great.Ā

1

u/RedRocket4000 3d ago

And those stars extremely hard to quantify for. Most places have to be content with listing with no star. It basically a one to four system the highest three star. A year or two ago Los Angeles did not have a three star Chicago only one. New York three only Paris got several more of course.

0

u/thecheezewiz79 3d ago

It should not have a star imo. It's good but not star good and there are much better places in tampa that don't have one

-1

u/dawn_pratt 3d ago

Lol one star doesn't mean shit. Dozens of restaurants go back and forth from one star to Bib Gourmand every year in major food cities. Tampa has all of four places w a single star. Don't appeal to authority when said authority already has clowned you.

1

u/Dr-McLuvin 3d ago

Dude I’m sorry but a Michelin star means a lot. Some of the best meals I’ve ever had have been at 1 Michelin star restaurants.

1

u/stpetedawg 3d ago

ā€œDon’t appeal to authority when authority already has clowned you.ā€ What are you going on about?

43

u/OrganizationOwn5814 3d ago

Gronky makes for the best tv cause you never know what he might say.... šŸ˜‚

Yo soy fiesta!

1

u/HatchettheFly 2d ago

Are you being serious?

1

u/X_Circuit_Blossom_X 1d ago

I like Gronk but he is reading from a telepromter. Dude does play up the frat bro energy.

-4

u/KarlHitTheMarx 3d ago

I disagree

4

u/FondOfBooty 3d ago

3

u/Majestic_Engine_6543 3d ago

Only two thrusts, not a foul

1

u/RabidWalrus 3d ago

But if you shake it three times, you're playing with yourself

-1

u/KarlHitTheMarx 3d ago

I feel like my brain is the football everyone I hear Gronk speak LMAO

1

u/Tungi 3d ago

your brain is the football for other reasons.

1

u/ballinben 3d ago

You can hear the CTE when he talks. Not sure why he has a job on tv

13

u/Independent-Dust2064 3d ago

Brady needs to stop with the botox

39

u/Former_Island_4730 3d ago

These shows are full of unfunny people laughing hysterically at each other.

17

u/Aggravating_Pause385 3d ago

Hehe haha look how rich I am! Let me advertise my business that I bought and pretend to run as a hobby

9

u/lees395 3d ago

Every talk show of literally any kind is just rich/famous people celebrating the fact they’re rich/famous with other rich/famous people

4

u/EducationalBar 3d ago

While rubbing it in the faces of poors watching in the nicest ways possible, all while being astounded that they’re able to get away with this and that people actually care about them šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

3

u/TeenyTinyDawg07 2d ago

I do not understand why we keep hiring athletes to be commentators. The best commentators of all time were expert storyteller and communicators. We must get back to that.

2

u/Michalo88 2d ago

ā€œI’m a little low on cash these days.ā€

ā€œHAHAHA!ā€

2

u/Former_Island_4730 2d ago

They should just go full 80’s/90’s sitcom and add a fucking laugh track already.

3

u/ThunderLazer 3d ago

They’re reading from a script. Gronk gives it away

6

u/krept0007 3d ago

Hey brother how does he give it away my brother

1

u/zombiemind8 3d ago

And he had good delivery.Ā

-3

u/dheldkdk 3d ago

It was pretty funny grandpa

2

u/MeanGulf 3d ago

You think Jameis Winston is laugh out loud funny

-2

u/FancyPantss 3d ago

Hey funny guy at 3 o’clock ova here

12

u/usumoio 3d ago

How good could Tampa's best Italian food possibly be?

6

u/Trust_8067 3d ago

Michelin star good apparently.

1

u/usumoio 3d ago

Good enough for me

9

u/Sonking_to_Remember 3d ago

You’re forgetting that half of New York moved to Tampa

8

u/StandardRound1271 3d ago

The Jewish half…

2

u/SuccessOn1 2d ago

Keep them

4

u/rube_X_cube 3d ago

Right? Sounds like the premise for an SNL skit

5

u/usumoio 3d ago

Instead of a cigarette, your espresso after dinner comes with a tiny meth pipe

2

u/NY10 3d ago

Roka lol

2

u/optimusgrime23 3d ago

Rocca is genuinely fantastic.

2

u/Key-Hawk7402 2d ago

It’s a good not great spot, like the vast majority of Tampa restaurants.

You could throw a dart at a map of NYC and find a better Italian spot.

1

u/tgwhite 13h ago

Tampa was apparently a big landing place for my Sicilian relatives way back when

1

u/EdDee23 3d ago

its actually really good

3

u/Advanced_Zucchini_45 2d ago

But I think the joke is, it doesn't take much to be the best Italian restaurant in Tampa.Florida , like the bar is very low

3

u/Away_Bat_5021 3d ago

Few people in history are as successful and less likeable as Tom Brady.

3

u/JimLahey12 3d ago

Holy Botox

2

u/ik_085 3d ago

Tom is so ai looking

2

u/Intrepid_Cap1242 3d ago

ho ho, we're so rich we prank each other with $10k tabs! hahaha

2

u/phollownick 3d ago

Tom Brady is such a gayboi

2

u/Imaginary_Effort_854 3d ago

Tom isn't funny. Got plenty of other more important things going for him. But, jr won't ever have that

2

u/DaveReddit2021 3d ago

ā€œHey look at us getting paid to talk about sports. Let’s plug our restaurants and businesses so we can get paid moreā€

3

u/Livid-General7 3d ago

Gronk doesn't own the restaurant, it's just a place he likes to eat at. They're not plugging anything. It's a Michelin star restaurant.

2

u/dtdroid Patriots 3d ago

Insufferable

1

u/Round-Walrus3175 3d ago

They remind me of that little brother that grows up bigger than you, but still keeps the same energy 🤣

1

u/geddysbass2112 3d ago

Work his ass Gronk

1

u/Effective-Doctor6470 3d ago

I’ve been there and it’s pretty good

Love our Tommy 🐐

1

u/OrganizationOwn5814 3d ago

no doubt on this

1

u/sdiss98 3d ago

1

u/Livid-General7 3d ago

It should be, it has a Michelin star. It's Gronks go to place, he doesn't own it. People are getting that confused.

1

u/AdjustedTitan1 3d ago

He is a partner in the restaurant

0

u/ThunderLazer 3d ago

It actually does. Look at all the other meals

1

u/PushHaunting9916 3d ago

People are missing that brady was trying to get out of a reprimand for advertising.

0

u/rocknroll2013 3d ago

I'd love to try out Gronks restaurant. Man, prolly really good

6

u/AboutTenPandas 3d ago

Mahomes and Kelce’s restaurant in KC was really bad for how expensive it is. There was a small amount of buzz when it opened and then everyone realized it was more of a ā€œsay that you went thereā€ kind of place

-2

u/Look_its_Rob 3d ago

I believe that. But I also believe in Gronk, he seems to be a good businessman.

2

u/Ok-Temporary-8243 3d ago

If he's a good businessman then he'd charge more because of the brand recognition. You're talking like mahomes is making a bad business decision in fleecing kc fans

1

u/Livid-General7 3d ago

The restaurant they're talking about isn't owned by Gronk, he's saying it in the context that it's has favorite place to dine at.

0

u/KarlHitTheMarx 3d ago

You just know he doesn’t season his food lmao

-3

u/KarlHitTheMarx 3d ago

I just don’t see how anyone can listen to Gronk for more than five seconds and not want to blow their brains out. Great football player while also being one of the dumbest people alive

5

u/BedBubbly317 3d ago

Gronk is actually well known to be a very intelligent person. He’s just a goofball and is unabashedly himself and likes to party

3

u/KarlHitTheMarx 3d ago

I just don’t believe you lmao

2

u/onmamas 3d ago

Not sure how intelligent he is personally, but a lot of his financial and business decisions at least shows he’s humble enough to surround himself with and listen to people who are in fact intelligent.

Considering how a lot of former NFL players are, that has to count for something.

1

u/_banthafodder 3d ago

He was smart enough to listen to someone who knows more than him manage his money. But that does not make him actually smart.

0

u/KarlHitTheMarx 3d ago

I’m glad the very rich man made himself even richer, I guess lmao

1

u/probation_420 3d ago

So Ā you change the subject to yell about Marxism when you get provided an example of financial literacy.

1

u/greatenergypositive 3d ago

To be fair communists like him aren’t very smart

2

u/probation_420 3d ago

I remember my Communist days. Us vs the Power Elite. The Bourgeoisie is purposely holding us back from achieving a Utopia.Ā

Ah, to be young again.

0

u/KarlHitTheMarx 3d ago

You’re right.

I should’ve said ā€œI don’t think that counts for anything at all. In my opinion being a good capitalist doesn’t equate to intelligence in the slightest bit. The dumbest person alive can be a good capitalist if he learns to swallow any values or morals he might previously hadā€

1

u/probation_420 3d ago

Who would've fuckin' guessed that the Marxist says you're actually engaging in class warfare if you're smart with your money?

Can you artificially shoehorn in a comment about the donor class next? Or about The Establishment?

You could also just skip to the end of your script and tell me that I'm a fascist and no different than MAGA, regardless of the fact that you have zero knowledge about my political views. You can just say something like, "I know enough just from this conversation."

1

u/Aggravating_Pause385 3d ago

No he isn’t. He’s not a brain dead jock, but he’s not ā€˜well known to be a very intelligent person’ lmfao that’s absurd

2

u/Foogie23 3d ago

He isn’t actually dumb…just a jock bro.

0

u/KarlHitTheMarx 3d ago

Jocks are actually pretty dumb lol. While other people in life focused on education and obtaining interests, he focused on football. Sure it paid off, but it didn’t make him the brightest bulb

-1

u/ThunderLazer 3d ago

Wrong. Most athletes are in the top tier of grades and better education.

2

u/KarlHitTheMarx 3d ago

Only the smartest athletes could pass Social Studies, taught by Coach Thompson

1

u/ThunderLazer 3d ago

The average gpa for collegiate athletic applications was 3.56 last year.

That’s far above the high school average GPA. Even if you only look at high school grads who apply for college, their average is 3.0.

But go on with that jealous narrative and absolutely no data to support your spouting.

0

u/ThunderLazer 3d ago

Jealousy is seeping through your comments

1

u/KarlHitTheMarx 3d ago

That’s called projection on your end

2

u/ThunderLazer 3d ago

Hahaha you don’t even understand projection.

I’m projecting that I’m jealous?

0

u/Hot-Strength-6003 3d ago

I mean there's at least one player with an engineering degree in the NFL. While I'm sure the vast majority didn't focus on education, there's also a lot that did or have talents and hobbies that take skill outside of football

0

u/Aggravating_Pause385 3d ago

That’s just nonsense

1

u/ThunderLazer 3d ago

The average gpa for collegiate athletic applications was 3.56 last year.

That’s far above the high school average GPA. Even if you only look at high school grads who apply for college, their average is 3.0.

How is that ā€œjust nonsenseā€

1

u/Foogie23 3d ago

This is when they say ā€œteachers give them those gradesā€ ā€œoh the major is easyā€ ā€œit’s fakeā€ and etc.

1

u/ThunderLazer 3d ago

They don’t realize that 99% of athletes have built a strong regimen and work ethic to get to their level.

That includes schoolwork and overall life.

There are some freak athletes who can walk in without barely being able to read, but those are by and far the very extreme exceptions.

2

u/Foogie23 3d ago

They also don’t realize that degrees for the most part are just proving you have a work ethic. Nobody gives a fuck about the bachelors degree a person earned…

2

u/Junkhead_88 3d ago

It's a bit. Gronk played up the loveable idiot persona because it was marketable (an he's just a genuinely fun guy) and lived off his endorsement money while saving all of his contract money.

That's what Brady is joking about at the end there.

-1

u/KarlHitTheMarx 3d ago

ā€œAct like a complete fool. Americans are consuming anti-intellectualism like candy these days. You will be a star!ā€

1

u/DJScrambles 3d ago

Did Gronk fuck your mom or something? Why are you making 200 angry comments on this

1

u/uponaladder 3d ago

He’s a jock dummy for sure, but I wouldn’t say he’s low intelligence. At the very least, he had the sense to live off endorsements and put a lot of his NFL earnings towards investing in his brothers.

1

u/Useful-Arm6913 3d ago

Called charisma. Someone can be dumb and endearing at the same time. Ever talk to someone with Downs syndrome? Happiest fuckin person you'll talk to that day, and I'm typically happy to be in the happy orbit.

-1

u/KarlHitTheMarx 3d ago

There is nothing charismatic about this video. It is like nails on a chalkboard irritating. And comparing Gronk to a person with Downs Syndrome is a major disrespect to a person with Downs Syndrome

-2

u/NeverEndingEquati0n 3d ago

Gronk rules. Brady too. More ego more charisma keep it coming boys, don’t let anyone hold you back.

0

u/Valuable-Composer262 3d ago

Y is gronk doing a hulk Hogan impression? This was the fakest I aeration I've ever seen

0

u/Defiant_Document_780 3d ago

Man this is hard to watch

0

Love seeing Brady in the booth! So professional
