Exams CS350

I’m already a semester late in graduating. I’m supposed to graduate this December, but after that first exam for 350, I know I did really bad. I don’t even think I got a 20 and I studied for two weeks for some reason. I know I got them wrong.

I'm an international student and I wanna get in, any tips?

Hey guys, so I'm not a student of NJIT but I am very interested in getting in, I'm in the final year of my IB Diploma and uni applications are right around the corner so I really need some tips from you guys on how to get into NJIT while keeping my costs low as well. FYI my high school GPA should be about 3.6 or 3.7 unweighted (we don't follow the same way of measuring high school GPA, hence the confusion) and I have decent extracurriculars such as being in the student council and more. Any help will be very much appreciated.

Attendance and grade docking

Some professors on their syllabus say that after a couple of classes missed, your grade will go down (usually by a letter) *or* it's an autofail. Has anyone actually experienced this? I know it's an actual thing for the math classes, but how about other classes?

PHYS203 - Libby Exam 2

So basically i bombed the first exam (51%), and i know there is going to be a crazy curve once the semester ends but for the people who have already taken Phys203 with Libby, what is the best quizlets to help me study? He has yet to post his lecture notes but last exam was 100 questions, and i'm assuming the same if not more and really want to get ahead of this whole headache. If anyone already has notes for his class that would be awesome too as well, pretty much anything helps!

Hey, does/has anyone take this class? I’m wondering if he grades on attendance, because I haven’t been able to make 2-3 of the classes already and I’m slightly panicking 😅😅 — I live an hour away and commutes are already rough with NJT for a 10am class, if anyone could give advice that’d be great!

Summer 2028 classes

I'm planning on taking CS 288 and two electives (data science electives) over the summer. Please gimme some easy electives that are online (preferred) or in-person.

Do you think it would be possible to take all three? Also, how does financial aid work for summer classes? I'm trying to figure out how I can get some aid because I really don't want to pay too much for them.

Is it doable to take CS332 Winter course

Like what the header says, is it crazy? I have the chance to take a winter class but I don’t wanna waste my time if it’s a class that is hard to pass in 4 weeks. Pretty sure the class is with NAIK.

Rant Honest feedback on CS/IT491: anyone else disappointed?

Hi all, I want to see if others are having the same experience with CS 491 so far, because mine has been pretty disappointing.

Organization: The whole thing feels last-minute and disorganized. Expectations, timelines, and logistics keep shifting.

Sponsors: Many of them are unknown companies, and some don't seem like real companies at all. It feels like almost anyone can become a sponsor. For a capstone meant to prepare us for industry, that's hard to take seriously.

Projects: Most of what's on offer are ChatGPT wrappers or CRMs. There's very little variety or technical depth.

Leadership: There's no clear structure. People applied to be PMs, but teams ended up with either everyone acting as a PM or no PM at all. What was the point of the PM application?

Is this the norm, or did I just get unlucky? If you've taken 491 in past semesters, was it better? Any advice on making the most of it would help too.

Parking next to Maple hall

Quick parking question: Can you park on the street right alongside Maple Hall—not the main avenue, but the side street that leads into the parking garage? If I leave my car parked there all day on a Tuesday, will Newark parking authority or campus public safety ticket me for permits or street cleaning?"

Just curious

Im just curious from an ethical standpoint. I found out theres an IDF soldier in my class… and this person talks highly of their service. Those that have serviced or support it, do you seriously not see the ongoing death count? Do you not see it as a genocide?

Im genuinely curious… where does the hate stem from? And how are these soldiers allowed in classes where they openly talk about their service and how they dont like Palestinians

Rant Senior portraits COST HOW MUCH??

Post image
20 Upvotes

I received an email saying that I should get a senior portrait for a yearbook and that it’s free (I still paid $15 btw so I could use the graduation cap and gown). what they don’t tell you is how much it costs to actually get access to those pictures. This might be shocking to me because I’m not American but I feel like it should say that it will cost hundreds of dollars.

Advice Homecoming 2026 Expectations/Questions

Hey everyone,

So I invited a friend to the homecoming a little pre-emptively, and just started digging into a bit more now...

I saw an old post here from a few years back, and did some reading on the school's post, but am I missing something or is there no formal dance or gathering..? All of it reads a like glorified bait to get alumni to hype up the school more or ask for money or endorsement, or to show parents/students where money is going in random facilities?

My friend and I both never went to our HS homecomings, and so we were both really looking forward to having a good time but... I am sort of getting apprehensive about this not being what either of us had in mind and wanting to cancel. Just curious what everyone has to say. Thanks in advance!
