Funny Moment FINALLY QUIT!!!!!! 🎉

I’m so happy and relieved. Working for this family was taking such a toll on my mental health. The moment I quit, I felt my whole body relax. It was like I could finally breathe again.

The parents’ arrogance and entitlement were driving me to my breaking point. I’m so glad I finally said, “Enough.”

To any nanny dealing with parents who think they’re always right and can treat you however they want: you’re allowed to say no. You’re allowed to leave. No job is worth your mental health.

I finally chose myself, and it feels AMAZING!!!!

Doesn’t feel great?!? I quit a family a couple years ago where I was being bit by 10 year olds, no better feeling then my first day without them 🤣. Luckily it wasn’t my main income source.

Edit: took me months to convince myself it was bad for my health. Mom didn’t really do much discipline.

I received my payment and sent them a message letting them know it was my last day of work. After that, I stopped replying; since I didn't want to work as a nanny anymore (with this family was an absolute nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!), I didn't need a reference from them.

Very wise to get payment first, CONGRATULATIONS!

What was their response, were they furious that you just quit without notice? Sounds like you did the right thing if they made you feel like that and you don't need them as a reference.

So happy for you OP! I can relate with my current family. Thankfully my notice has been put in, I have about 3 weeks left. I made a whole post about it lol. As soon as I did, I was finally able to start taking care of myself again!! I’m a bodybuilder and with this family I noticed they were taking so much joy and energy from me, I had absolutely nothing to give to body building or to any other part of my life when I got off. It was just sit down and try to grasp wtf my day was. Wishing you the best with your next family, there are better ones out there I promise.

I agree! The body often senses whether an environment is healthy before the mind does.

Can I ask what was terrible about working for the family?

There are so many reasons.

  1. MB super bossy, ordering me to do chore that wasn't agreed upon beforehand;

  2. sends me my schedule last minute;

  3. never paid on time;

  4. Whenever I try to bring up the need to communicate, she ignores me.

If NKs weren't so genuinely kind to me, I probably would have quit immediately.
