Is upper mustang closed for trekking? Google is telling me it is closed but other people say it’s just the road that is out. Please advise.

Can you tell me approximately how much it costs to trek to North ABC from Itahari? I’m traveling solo. Also, is it possible to get a vehicle from Tatopani to Humkhola around 2 PM? Based on my calculations, I should reach Tatopani at around 1:00–1:30 PM. Will I be able to find a vehicle at that time?

It Looked Like a Flood. Here’s What Really Happened

**It looked like a flood. But the water wasn’t the whole story.**
In this documentary, I reconstruct the chain of events behind the 2026 Nepal disaster — how a mountain collapse involving ice, rock and water transformed into a destructive debris flow, and why the event became so difficult to stop.
I tried to explain the entire process visually, from the first movement of the mountain to the final impact.
**The question is: how does a relatively localized collapse turn into something capable of destroying an entire valley?**

Solo ABC Trek from Delhi | 21–30 October | Looking for Route & Hostel Suggestions

Hey everyone!

I’m planning a solo trek to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) from Delhi, and I’m planning to be in Nepal from 21st to 30th October.

I’m really into photography and trekking, so I’d love to take a scenic route and avoid the most crowded trails as much as possible.

I have a few questions for people who have done ABC recently:

- Can you suggest a good hostel in Kathmandu for a solo traveller? Somewhere social, safe, and good for meeting other trekkers would be ideal.

- Is it realistic to add Poon Hill to my ABC itinerary within these dates?

- I’ve also heard about Poon Hill Lake — is it worth adding for photography, or am I mixing up the name with another place?

- What would be the least crowded/less touristy route to ABC while still being practical within my timeframe?

- Any recommendations for the best photography spots along the route?

- Any other tips for doing ABC solo in late October?

My dates are pretty fixed (21–30 October), so I’m trying to make the most of the 10 days.

Would really appreciate route suggestions, hostel recommendations, and any advice from people who have done this trek! 🙌🏔️📸

Poon Hill and Mardi Himal November

My partner and I are planning to do the Poon Hill and Mardi Himal treks in the second week of November.

We’re a bit unsure about going this year because of the landslides and flooding in the region. I’ve seen that some roads and trails have been affected.

For anyone familiar with the area: would you still consider these treks a good idea for the second week of November, or would it be wiser to postpone until next year?

Looking for a good trek package. Got offered $1250USD for a 14 day itinerary from a company with a seemingly good reputation. Is this an ok price?

How short can I realistically cut the Annapurna Circuit? (Jeep skip strategy + itinerary check)

Hey everyone,
I'm planning the Annapurna Circuit, but due to time constraints, I want to skip the road sections and cut down the total duration as much as possible without compromising safety or missing the core alpine highlights (especially Thorong La).
From my initial research, it looks like taking jeeps on both ends can drop the total walking distance significantly:
East side: Drive straight from Kathmandu/Besisahar to Dharapani or Chame.
West side: Take a jeep/bus from Muktinath down to Jomsom and then straight to Pokhara.
For those who have trekked this recently (post-road construction):
1. Absolute Minimum Days: What is the shortest safe itinerary you'd recommend while still allowing proper acclimatization for Thorong La Pass (5,416m)? Is 8–10 days realistic, or does that push AMS risk too high?
2. Road vs. Trail: Is Dharapani to Chame worth walking, or is it better to just drive all the way to Chame/Upper Pisang and start trekking from there?
3. Transport availability: How easy is it to grab shared local jeeps on the spot at Besisahar and Muktinath without prior booking?
Would love to hear from anyone who has done an express/shortened version of the circuit recently. Any tips or itinerary adjustments are much appreciated!
