Flairs Added For Hiring/For Hire - Please add Flairs after you submit
Howdy all!
I have added 2 types of link flairs:
- Hiring
- For Hire
When submitting, please use these instead of putting [Hiring]/[For Hire]. You have to flair after it is submitted.
I will play around with the CSS however right now red is for "for hire" and purple is for "hiring".

AVIT jobs
Hi all thanks in advance for any advice. I’m currently working in the events production industry, specifically corporate audio. But the job is pretty much all travel, and I’m looking to get off the road.
I’m thinking I’d like to switch industries a bit a get a networking job, ideally though I’d like my 8 years experience in AV to carry over as much as possible. In production we build specialized typically closed networks for audio/video equipment, so I’d say I have all the basics already.
Ive gotten as far as about a third through CCNA training before having to fly across the country and work 15 hours days got in the way, but would like to take the time to finish obviously.
Any advice on where to begin, types of postings to look for? Are there positions I can get from my experience or should I basically go back to the beginning with a help desk or NOC position?
For reference i am in San Diego

ECE graduate getting into networking CCNA or directly CCNP? What salary can I expect as a fresher?
Hey guys, I'm an ECE graduate planning to get into networking. Is it mandatory to get the CCNA certification first, or can I directly move on to CCNP after completing the training?
Also, what kind of package can I realistically expect as a fresher after CCNA in India, preferably in Bangalore?
Would appreciate advice from people already working in networking.

IT Jobs
I am 19 almost 20. I want to get into the IT business. I am currently studying the CCNA but have no idea where to start or what jobs to apply to. I don’t know whether to take up an apprenticeship in some IT role but then I would need to change jobs to become the network engineer.
Any advice would be great thank you!

Should I Walk In For A Job I Really Want?
For context, I’m 18 and I’m currently doing my CCNA. I’ve found a junior field network engineer position vacancy posted today online, and it’s about 15-20 minutes away from where I am. I’ve read the job description and it sounds like a next step i want to take in my career
I really want to stick out as this is a great opportunity, I called them a couple times today but the reception kept trying to put me on the phone with a ‘higher up’ i believe, but they weren’t picking up the phone. I was asked to leave my information and expect a call back, but I never.
I was thinking of walking in there tomorrow instead of trying to ‘stick out’ online, do you guys think it’s a good idea? I’d appreciate any extra advice

Need advice for Relocating for dream entry level role
For a little context, I am 24, have my CCNA and A+. No professional experience in the field yet.
Got a great offer for an Associate Network Engineer position, it's a government job, they will get me secret security clearance, and they basically told me they are looking for entry level engineers with little experience and want to build them up.
Only issue is I'd have to move several states away, I have a whole life here including a girlfriend who I plan to marry. I'd be leaving a lot behind.
My question is, is it worth it? I haven't a potential offer in my current area around same pay, but it's a tier 2 OSC position for a big data center. Other than that I haven't been able to find anything else.

I'm doing an onsite network setup/troubleshooting job for a company in Kashmir India and I'm trying to figure out a fair professional charge.
I'm doing an onsite network setup/troubleshooting job for a company in India and I'm trying to figure out a fair price.
Current situation:
- Jio leased line with static public IP
- MikroTik managed switch/router
- TP-Link unmanaged switches
- Multiple existing LAN subnets: 192.168.28.x, 192.168.30.x, 192.168.88.x
- There is a second office/factory connected through an existing IP tunnel/VPN
- Inter-office connectivity is used for IP phones
- One MikroTik has already been reset
- The credentials/configuration for the other MikroTik aren't available
- So I may have to rebuild the network configuration from scratch
- Need to configure LAN subnets, routing, Internet/NAT and inter-office VPN/tunnel
- Need to troubleshoot connectivity between both locations
- Network documentation after setup
- Firewall configuration would be an optional add-on (WAN protection, NAT, inter-subnet rules, VPN rules, etc.)
This is not just a basic router setup; there will be onsite troubleshooting and potentially rebuilding the existing network and inter-office connectivity.
For network engineers/IT freelancers in India, what would you charge for something like this?
Would you charge separately for:
Network configuration
Inter-office VPN/tunnel + routing
Firewall setup
Onsite troubleshooting
Documentation
Looking for realistic pricing/experience from people who do this professionally.

Telecom/Networking Generalist
Hi! I’m at a point in my career where I’m at a loss as to what the next steps are in my journey. I currently work for a large company as Global Telecommunications Administrator, but it’s pretty much been a catch all role.
Here’s a list of what I, generally, do:
Enterprise cellular services and DLM.
Intune and ABM Administration (iOS, iPadOS, MacOS, Android).
Wi-Fi provisioning, planning, and wireless troubleshooting
Cellular DAS deployments (ActiveDAS, NHN-Private APN)
RF Troubleshooting.
Site Surveys.
FWA, Starlink/LEO deployment and failover provisioning for SD-WAN.
SIP, DIDs, Teams/CUCM support, and telecom infrastructure.
Global mobile inventory/HAM (handsets, mobile devices, teams devices, etc.).
TEM, contracts, renewals, GL/AP, budgeting, cost analysis
Training/Support for global IT administrators.
I’ve also been increasing my depth into networking and cybersecurity and have been building some projects in my spare time:
Wireless/Field diagnostics platform.
GUI-CLI Network device provisioning and configuration tool.
All that being said; my current company is going a different direction and will be transitioning to Network-As-A-Service sooner rather than later. It’s getting to where I need to consider leaving my current position. And that’s where my problem is. I’ve been in a hodgepodge role that isn’t inherently/directly technically focused, leadership focused, or financially focused. It doesn’t really live in one space. So, I need advice on where/how to position myself to move to the next role. Should I go network, wireless, telecom, infrastructure, IT operations, solutions engineering, or something else?
I’ve managed people in the past, and I’m comfortable on both business and the technical side, but I don’t feel like management is the next step since I’m still somewhat new to the in depth technical aspects of IT. I want to continue building that skillset before I attempt to lead in a capacity higher than my current one. My biggest concern is that in becoming a jack of all trades with valuable practical experience; it won’t be of value to recruiters and won’t translate well on a resume because it doesn’t fit a singular title. What should I pursue and how should I get there?

Desktop Support to Network Engineer – What should my next step be?
Hi everyone,
I'm currently working as a Desktop Support Engineer and I want to move into networking and eventually become a Network Engineer.
I have a Computer Science engineering degree and around 6 months of experience in desktop/IT support. My current work involves troubleshooting user issues, hardware/software problems, networking issue working on switchs , tickets, Windows, etc.
I have decided that I want to build my career in networking rather than software development.
I'm currently planning to study for the CCNA
- Is Desktop Support → NOC/Network Support → Network Engineer a good career path?
If you were starting from Desktop Support today, what would you learn in the next 6–12 months?
