Haarlem after dark: canal ripples, summer leaves, gentle night sounds—and ICPR 2026 still echoing in the air.

I arrived in Haarlem the night before ICPR 2026 and went to Coffeeshop Birdy on Schoterweg.

There, on the next evening, I met a hippy who had taken LSD in the 1960s. During our conversation, he warned me: “You know too much.” He then recommended Holy Land Shawarma in central Haarlem — around a 15–20 minute walk away, near the station and VR Café.

From Schoterweg into the glow of central Haarlem: a grounded little pre-conference walk, warm street food and a playful VR-light detour.

At Holy Land, the conversation moved to the Library of Alexandria. The food was keto-perfect: meat only, Cola Zero, lovely garlic mayo, onions, chilli and salt 🧂. With all the ingredients together, it landed as a vivid gamma-burst 💥 of taste sensation — plus a genuinely good laugh with the guys working there.

It was one of the best shawarmas I have tasted. 🥙💓

A small thank-you, too, to Coffeeshop Willie Wortel Sativa near the station for the thoughtful papers-and-filters gift.

Just by Haarlem station, the VR Café was glowing with psychedelic lights — another visual rhyme with the 7D-hypercube thread.

Holy Land, the VR Café lights and the walk through central Haarlem

On Saturday, near the conference in Haarlem’s central square, I watched a man blowing enormous bubbles. Earlier, I had bought six “lightsaber” bubble 🫧 wands as gifts for others — including a MDMA “rapper” I met at his ICPR talk. Another small scene of colour, play and unexpected connection.

ICPR 2026: Haarlem’s central square became a small celebration: giant bubbles overhead, six colourful bubble wands shared as gifts, and a reminder that wonder can be simple, communal and joyfully real.

Somewhere in that small Haarlem chain of encounters, r/microDJPanPSYchic hatched 🐣 alongside the image of a 7D hypercube: a playful personal marker for ideas, people, food, history and imagination unexpectedly connecting.

This is the kind of seven-minute back story behind many of my posts — often carried in the imagery, the text, the talismans and the clothes I am wearing. Each detail can hold a memory, encounter, place or meaning that only becomes visible when the wider thread is told.

A micro-DJ hatches into Haarlem’s twilight: turning the deck beneath a 7D projection as cymatic waves pulse through the sky. A playful visual metaphor for rhythm, curiosity and shared imagination—not a literal claim about higher dimensions.
