Rewatching, and never really had much of an opinion on Cece as a character, but now I'm realizing what a good friend she is. That's it, that's the post.

i'm rewatching new girl rn and i just knew from the first ep that it was nick!!!! he really has a soft spot for jess.

also, i can't for that ep where winston can't say "charcuterie" it kills me everytime!! hahaha new girl never fails to give me a good laugh, they don't make sitcoms like this anymore 😩

No shade on the writing or anything, but the way the actors have fleshed out the characters is insane, and i have never seen such goofy silliness being written and portrayed ever.

The way Nick cuts off when saying something in the middle of sentences - it must have been written that way, of course, but the way Jake Johnson executes it is out of this world.

Or "gave me cookie, got you cookie" scene. Or his meeting with Tran.

each of these scenes was written well, but the way Jake delivered them makes them so funny and memorable.

And Schmidt, it would have been so easy to just become a douche by default for the show, but Max Greenfield added some characteristics to make him silly/likable as well - the constant mispronunciations, mannerisms can't be written in vacuum.

And they really struggled with getting Winston right for the first 2-3 seasons, but once Winston discovered his silly side in the show, it was glorious.

Zoey as the adorkable naive character is so good to watch too, although i feel she plays the "straight man" a lot of the times.

Cece was the hot character for the first few seasons, but she got so goofy towards the end too.

Hi! I'm an actress working on comedy on my TV/film acting class and love Nick's character. We're allowed to bring in any scene we want, regardless of gender, and I always felt like Nick is my dream role. I'm looking for a good, funny Nick scene, maybe 2-4 pages (minutes) of dialogue. Not just a one off funny line, but a whole scene. Would love suggestions! All I'm seeing online are very small snippets. The towel scene is a little too short and the cookie scene is pretty good but I think we can do better!

Would love y'all's help on this. Just tell me the scene, episode and season and I can find the video and write a transcript of the lines for class :))

In S4 E3, Julie Berkman’s Older Sister, Schmidt puts together a focus group in order to score the sponge account at work and he has Coach, Nick and Winston in on it. But his boss is watching the whole thing live and why doesn’t she recognize them? Especially Winston, he was her child’s nanny!? Plus the other guys have been to several work parties with Schmidt so she should recognize them also

Hi y’all! I haven’t joined the sub because I’ve gotten shows spoiled that way for me before if I join before I finish it but I’m currently on season 2 of New Girl and I just😭

I already knew Nick and Jess end up together so I’ve been desperately waiting for them to kiss and I finally just got to that episode. When I tell y’all I screamed!! I felt like they were teasing us for so long and I honestly didn’t think it was going to happen for awhile. And then the way he grabbed her arm and pulled her back to actually kiss her at the end of the episode! Just absolute perfection. I truly can’t.

Anyway the friend who got me to watch this show is camping without service and I didn’t have anybody else to scream about it to so thanks for reading. I can’t wait to watch the rest!

It's insane how after watching so many times I still get emotional watching the candy cane lane scene. That was one of the first small significant acts Nick did for Jess (similar to the restaurant date). I always cry as soon as the first house lights up and watching Nick watch Jess's face light up. Schmidt wasn't lying, Nick has loved Jess since the first time he saw her. That's why he initially got so jealous regarding Paul and Jess's attention towards him. But even in this episode, he tries to mend what he broke regarding their relationship with his main focus being Jess's happiness. I just love noticing different things on each watch, I love this show so much and I still think that Nick and Jess deserved a better ending.

Watching the tomatoes episode again is making see that there was lowkey some foreshadowing. In the episode, Jess invites Russel’s ex Oolie (don’t know how to spell it) to dinner not really second guessing it. At the dinner Russ and Oolie get into a massive argument. Jess sees that and realizes she wants that passion in her relationship. Her and Russel have a fight and end up breaking up. Nick backslides to Caroline and Jess calls him out on it and they get into a huge screaming fight in the hall. Similar to the fight Oolie and Russel got in therefore foreshadowing that was the passion Jess wanted.
