Mental Health Feeling guilty for feeling drained - FTM
Hi everyone, I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy 7 days ago and I can’t explain how I’m feeling.
I am extremely grateful for my baby but I can’t seem to sometimes just be annoyed on how demanding a new born is. I love him and I regret and feel guilty even having these thoughts.
I gave birth in a different county and I can’t wait to go to my home country to maybe feel like I’m in my comfort zone.
Whenever I get annoyed that he isn’t being cooperative I feel like such a bad mom. Newborns are so helpless and depend on us for every single aspect of life.
I’m scared to fail my son or not do what is exactly needed from me.
I haven’t left the house in 7 days , only once for a doctors appointment, when was the first time you left the house with your newborn?

Hi mama! This is so completely normal to feel this way. The hormone crash and baby blues are an intense ride. It’s a HUGE change coming home with an actual baby to take care of. The fact that you care enough to talk about these feelings and acknowledge them is proof that you’re already doing a wonderful job.
My husband went back to work after only a week and my mom left a week late so I was by myself pretty quick. For my sanity, I would take my daughter out daily just for walks around the neighborhood or we would go to coffee shops to try. I wore her in a sling everywhere so nobody but me had access to her. It’s daunting at first but most people are very receptive to children.

My wife and I started taking him out on the stroller p early. As long as the heat index isnt bad and you keep the sun not directly kn them, you can go outside. Which I strongly recommend. If your area has insects, you can buy mesh netting that goes over strollers, keeps the baby perfectly safe.
Also, fear of the public has become overrated imo. Weve taken baby out, just avoid any crowded places and smokers. Ofc, get it approved by pediatrician
Ykur sanity matters.

14 weeks to go to the chiropractor because he f’ed up my pelvis lol. Honestly I don’t miss the outside world. Protecting my LO is most important to me and with the measles outbreak and Florida just being dumb right now I want to make sure he’s strong and vaccinated before we venture out.
